I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas, but before anyone thinks they can take a well earned rest I've decided that I'm not going to wait until the New Year before posting the next puzzle. Enjoy, or not as the case may be...

Alex, if everyone else is taking a temporary break I think you can flout the rules and have another guess.

Actually, I'm having vacation myself this week (that's why I suggested a break until New Year :) ), but I'll give another quick guess:

"Blue Crystal" by Rainbow arts.

Steady on! I posted barely an hour ago, you don't need to be that quick in replying. :D

No, it would help if you identified the object on the left, then once you have identified it you need to...

I thought the object on the left is the planet Venus. That's the reason my first guess was "to catch a rainbow". Rainbow from Zippy and catch from the Venus flytrap plant.

Yes, it is Venus and that's some obscure reasoning, just not as obscure as the reasoning I'm using.

First of all happy new year everyone!! Hopefully 2016 will be a year full of adventure.

I've been rather busy the last few days, hence my late reaction, but I'm quite puzzled about the solution to your game. Do both hints refer to the title?

Has anyone else any idea?

Belated happy new year Alex, and everyone else, you did ask for a 'most devious challenge' so I thought I would oblige.

It is quite possible that it is too devious and that has put others off from attempting an answer, so before I post the next clue I will give some pointers on how you should interpret the first clue set. Regarding Venus think about the characteristics of that planet. Regarding Zippy, his name and the programme he appeared on are irrelevant, instead think about his limitation in that picture.

Back from some well-earned r&r (I think) - and what do I return to? A complete bonkers challenge! I love it and I have no clue what that's supposed to be :)
But as all searches for acid, clouds, boiling, hot, love - as well as muffled, silent, quiet, shut (up), zip(ped) and such amounted to nothing, I'm going to go for
The Commute

Don't ask me to explain how that first image signifies "com" in any way, but at least the creature is "mute". In a sense.

Thanks for the prize, happy to be the winner of this round ;)

No, it's neither The Commute nor Cloudburst.
