Can anyone tell me how to interact with the characters? Do you put your question in quotations? (e.g. ".."). I have tried ASK, TELL, etc. and I get nowhere.

Your interaction with characters:

SAY GIVE KEYS TO ME (Mrs Pinniger)

SAY TELL ME ABOUT HOARD (Mrs P)

SAY TELL ME ABOUT BEACON HILL (ferryman)

That should help.

Thanks Doreen

I am stuck again.

I have decoded the notebook message (not through any clues - I just like cryptograms)

I have hired the ferryman and visited those places, read the slab.

I don't know what to do with Jemmy, or Josh at the garage, or with Roper. Saying to him "TELL ME ABOUT CODE" doesn't do anything.

What to do with Irene?

Any more help you can give?
Thanks.

Hi Terri,

You need to see Mr Roper to help with the codes. He is found inside the chandlers. You will need the notebook with you.

The vicar will tell you about Hob. Don't forget to ask for more info.

You need to hire some scuba gear, need credit card Jemmy will take you to the wreck if yiou ask. You will need a chart for this.

The shops are only open at certain times.

You can buy beer for Jemmy.

See how you get on with this.

I did some of those things, so I guess my problem is with the syntax,

At Roper's, I had the notebook but whatever combination of words I tried didn't work.

Yes, I bought Jemmy a beer, but nothing I tried then to talk to him worked. I have the credit card, but still no go.

Charts - those I haven't found yet. I thought that the note said that Martin had given the sailing instructions to Jemmy.

Scuba gear? Does one hire this at the garage? Or does one get this from Irene? I presume I need to do something first to know that scuba gear is needed?

Yes, I talked to the Vicar, but only about Hob's Hoard. I tried asking other things, but got no response.

So, it seems that it's not my logic, just my language.

I am aware that the shops close.

Is there any particular order that you need to do things?

Can you tell me the exact language to use with Roper and Jemmy, and I'll go from there.

Thanks

Hi Terri,

In Pub
BUY BEER, SAY TELL ME ABOUT HOB (Duggie says to ask Jemmy but he's thirsty)
BUY BEER FOR JEMMY, SAY TAKE ME TO THE WRECK (you now know about the scuba gear, chart and Beacon Hill)

Now you can go the Beacon hill via the ferry)

Go to the red doored cottage then go west. get chart.

You HIRE the scuba gear at the local shop.

Jemmy will be on the beach - BOARD DINGHY

At Mr Ropers - SAY TELL ME ABOUT CODES

Try this
Good luck
Doreen.

I know this is a dumb question Doreen, but how do I get out of the dinghy?

Do I do anything there beside tying the buoy?

Hi,

When you have boarded dinghy, and put out to sea, EXAMINE COAST (it is misty) WEAR SCUBA, E (you should be underwater now) DOWN, to see a wreck you tie a buoy to the wreck and it floats to top.

U, BOARD DINGHY, EXAMINE COAST, MARK CHART.

Jemmy should take you back to the shore. DROP SCUBA.
You should now be back in the pub where you can BUY BEER FOR JEMMY.

This should be the end of part 1.

OK

OK - I am in part 2.

Saw Judy, found Jemmy, asked the vicar about waymark, found and read the tombstones, got the spade and pickaxe, and am at the cave.

I presume I need to dig here, but again, language gets to me.

What about Josh at the garage?

Hi Terri,

As far as I can remember you will need the lit torch to go further into the caves.

Josh is a bit deaf so you will need to ask him twice for batteries for the torch....

Shall I leave more info till you have explored the cave?

I haven't found the torch yet, so I guess I need to buy one.

Tis "boost" should help for know. Let me see how far I get. If I need more, I'll write again. I'll probably need help with the language again.

Thanks

The torch is bought in the village shop.

Batteries are to be asked for at the garage. Remember Josh is a bit deaf....

I tried Doreen, but I don't have the right language. BUY TORCH doesn;t work. Neither does any other phrase I can think of like, SAY SELL TORCH. Maybe I should try SAY SELL ME A TORCH??? Lordy...

Oh dear you are having a problem.......lets start at the beginning....

I presume you have the password GRAVEYARD

Have you seen Judith Trevithick? you need to ask her Where is Jemmy, and you need to say THANK YOU...

Have you stood on the RIGHT SLAB? Have you been inside here it is dark - Maybe this triggers the BUY TORCH in the shop?

Try that...
