jewel of power

#1 Post by terri »

So, this is where we talk, note progress or lack thereof?
I had posted questions on the old forum and don't know if they are still accessible to people.
I need to know where the next woods to map are. Anyone have any idea?

reposting questions

#2 Post by terri »

To bring folks up-to-date, I am reasking my questions:
1. there are two mazes? Where is the second one?
2. Dropping the marble. The last hints I have say to
look out for the groove
.Did that mean to drop the marble there, or to be careful as something else may happen?
3. What about the symbols over the castle doors and the room with the tall windows?
4. There is more than once piece of wand in the castle? Where is the second piece? And, of course, how does one get it?
5. I too don't know what to do at the castle gates.
6. The part where the staff gets heavy...one is to know that one should go down there? It's like a divining rod?

Additional point. If you play with the levers and wheels, the chasm fills up with water and you can go south. Then what?

Jewel of Power

I'd love to help, but I haven't even made it into the castle. Not sure about the two mazes, although I'm hoping that the "looking west/east in the dark wood" and the "dark wood looking north" areas count as 2 different ones because I don't know how much more maze mapping I can take :)

The old forum is still there. Go to the CASA main page and click "Discussion". From there, you can continue to the old forum :)

dark wood

The dark wood is not the way to the second maze. At least I have not found it. Going north or west takes you into the same maze but a different location. Going east you can't, takes you to the same location. It is not that difficult to map: you need six objects to drop, and save/restore at every drop. Hang in there Amby. I can't play this alone. If you are really stuck I can help. But just in case I have made a mistake and thereis another way to another object, someone else has to help.

Getting into the castle is not a problem if you have the rat in the trap. Go east five times from the troll's place, then KNOCK DOOR, OPEN TRAP. Take the trap again as you will need many obejcts to map the castle. Geo's hints say that there are two pieces of the wand in the castle. I have only found one.

I could have sworn I tried "knock door" at the castle (carrying the rat in a trap), hmmm, will try that again tomorrow. I did find the gold and silver nuts in the forest and used them to get to the wand part - is there something else in another maze I need to find? [please say no - I don't think I can take too much more maze mapping].

Jeez, I still haven't solved the monument (I admit it, I have a complete mental block about this area). And I haven't even attempted the lever/wheel business below the troll's place.

So, basically I've only been through the desert and the forest, and used the wine on the giant (after getting the rat trap from the prison area but NOT getting the wand from the cell). What should I tackle next? The monument, the troll's basement, or the castle?

try this

Thanks for the tip in the dark wood. Don't know how I missed an access point.

Try going to the monument next. This seems to be a self-contained part. This is what I did. Opened all the doors first. The south door was aligned. The I went into the door that was only off by one rotation. Then UP inside, then opposite the direction you are facing. Keep doing this until they arrows are aligned. Then go on into the next "door" and do the same. If you're still stuck, let me know and I'll give step-by-step directions.

Then try the castle. Though apparently there should be another wand piece there which I have not found. I do not know what to do with the marble there. I suppose one can try playing with the levers and wheel before one goes into the castle. There are how many combinations of turn and push?

Oh but no, I did a bit of exploring in the castle, and see that it is yet another maze. I'm about to pull the last hair out of my head and erase this game off my HD. But, I don't want to leave you all alone on this game, so in an effort to get myself caught up with you, I believe I will take you up on your kind offer of step-by-step instructions for the monument.

Didn't I read on the old forum that Geoff had gotten through everything but the castle gate? I would sure like to know how. And where is that staff Geoff mentioned? Did I miss it outside or is it something I will find in the momunent/castle?

Geoff, where are you?
