In this enjoyable science fiction game you must collect three crystals as you travel through space in the USS Spectrum. If you you fail Earth will be destroyed by a uncontrollable pandemic.

You start by exploring your spaceship and then, once you have gained control, must travel to different systems to pick up useful objects and ultimately the crystals.
All in blue, this is a pleasant enough text only adventure, there are some nice bits of humour (for example when the Science Officer sees you in your spacesuit he bursts out laughing) and as you wander around and the puzzles are of a reasonable difficulty (although some are odd and not explained - why do I need a plank to 'sail' a canoe?).

Spread across seven locations, it's fun to explore and easy to map. The different locations with different races and cultures (thought they are only cursorily described) makes it even more interesting.
There are many slip ups to be avoided, or learnt from, along the way and it should take a decent amount of time to solve. It took me several weeks on and off.

I think this adventure is well worth playing, press the buttons and explore the universe!

Parser/Vocabulary (Rating: 6/10)

Adequate two-word input. Does what you expect in most cases, but what kind of person 'sails' a canoe?

Atmosphere (Rating: 7/10)

Good, I enjoyed the interactions with the characters and the locations are interestingly described with good detail.

Cruelty (Rating: Tough)

A lot of ways to get killed and a number of no return dead ends (Although beaming up can often help).

Puzzles (Rating: 7/10)

Good sensible and enjoyable puzzles, some of them interlinked.

Overall (Rating: 7/10)

A well written and enjoyable science fiction work of interactive fiction. I will certainly play the author's other game, Orc Island.
