Years ago a dwarven race lived in their mountain home, the volcano Firrhest. When the mountain threatened to erupt they fled leaving behind the all-powerful Earthstone, the basis of the dwarves' legendary power. Borodin, grandson of Sodar the dwarven High-Priest King of that era sent for you, a non-dwarf and the most prominent adventurer of that land, and asked you to recover the stone from Firrhest.
The Hall of the King Trilogy takes you from the bronze doors of Firrhest to the heart of the mountain in your quest for the Earthstone. The second part takes place in the Inner Chambers where you must find the second of the key pieces and the means of guidance before you can enter the caldera of the mountain.
