Synopsis

Plot

The year is 1862. You recieved a letter from your old childhood friend Raynard. You have kept in touch on and off since you left your village for the city to find work and a more interesting lifestyle. Raynard elected to stay and eventually moved to a neighbouring village called Raven Wood to take over the running of his fathers' Blacksmiths. He would carry on his fathers work for the great estate after which the village was named. The new head of Raven Wood manor (Lord Elgan Wood) was a strange fellow, who only recently arrived to take control of his now dead fathers' legacy. Rarely seen outside of the manor the new Lord is a strange and mysterious fellow. Soon after his arrival strange events started to befall Raven Wood.

First, was the disappearance of several children in the Sirens' Wood. Then when the Priest of the village church went to the manor for help he was never seen again. The appearance of strange creatures and now some sort of strange snow storm which has beset the village are making travel impossible.

It's now been over a month since you heard from Raynard, his last message was disturbing and he pleaded for you to return to help him put a stop to these events. He was going off to confront Lord Elgan who he believed to be at the heart of this dark trouble.

After braving the mountain pass you arrive at Raven Wood and its an eerie scene, snow is falling, but its July! The air is chilling to the bone. The villagers are keeping indoors for fear of freezing to death.

You stable the horses and return to find the driver has disappeared!? It's time to find out what's going on and what has happened to Raynard?

If it wasn't for the random chance of being killed by the werewolf without being able to prevent this I would have given the game an 8.

Alex, you can't prevent the werewolf from appearing, but you can avoid getting killed by it if you simply move in any direction.

Would either of you be up for writing a brief review - would be nice to get some coverage of such a spiffy, new game :)

@ahope1.You're right, but still it is quite annoying to have to walk around if the werewolf keeps appearing in the rooms where you have to do some special action. Sometimes it is already in the room when you enter it. Would have been nice if there was some way to get rid of it. But don't get me wrong I really enjoyed playing this game.

@Jacob I'll do my best if I have some spare time one of these days ;)

I haven't played the game but I can see that the font is exactly the same as the one Telarium used for Dragonworld, Nine Princes in Amber, Amazon etc. :)

Alex thanks for playing the game. BTW the Werewolf is on patrol in that area. If its not in your location it will not appear until you move to another location (potentially), so you're are free to do what you want for as long as you like in the location as long as you don't move. ;-) Losing the Werewolf is simple, just move one location in any direction you are allowed and back after a while you'll lose it. ;-) Sorry if its a bit annoying, I was in two minds whether to keep it in or not. Also the start position in that part of the game is a 'safe zone' the Werewolf will never appear there. Note there is a final version of the game released now (12/1/2017) with bug fixes and massive optimization. Runs on BBC B, BBC Master and Acorn Electron!! :-)

Note also Alex - Great solution there, we've fixed those bugs you pointed out! :-) See we keep an eye on everything. LOL
