Re: Any Turkish speakers amongst us?

You're a MARVEL!!

Thank you so much. I wouldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams that it would go that fast. Just came back here to check if I had "one reply" in my thread, seeing all the work was done within less than a month ;)

BTW, since it may take a little until the WT is up (got to be ...

Any Turkish speakers amongst us?

Well, it's mainly about the 1988/89 C64 game "Keloglan" which I'd like to see solved finally.

Despite my ridiculously poor language skills (being able to build 2- or 3-word sentences does not necessarily mean you can ask questions in Turkish on a forum), I WAS able to get quite far, but I'm stuck ...

Well, I normally "decode" by hand, using a nifty search->replace technique ^^

Never needed software to do that except for my ultraedit :D

Is anyone else getting odd exit descriptions with things such as (cor!) in them?

(NOTE: I haven't played this yet, so please consider it a stab in the dark :))
Well I can see you're from the US so it *might* a British English specialty again...

My mate always says "Cor Blimey!" (God blind me ...

Fluid ounces? As compared to ounces?

I have always thought that ounces were a volume measure, though I understand that it is a weight measure.

Not too difficult, think of gold which is still measured in ounces.
If ounces were volume, you could buy "a litre gold", or, if you insist, a couple of ...

dave, if you're finding yourself too busy for this stuff atm, I can do it too. However, if you're really planning to do it, I won't get in your way by poking my nose into your business... 8)

Reading the listings does not count as a cheat in my opinion (like cracking the code would be).

I guess it matters WHO reads those listings :D

If I do that, I might have the whole game solved in no time! ;)
That would be a lousy spoiler campaign eh?
So by all means you have to exclude dave and ...

Tagging threads with e. g. [solved] once a game is solved

Hi there,

due to the speed the folks are progressing with game classics (I'm mainly thinking about the Classics sub-forum) there should be a way to see which game is finished and which is not, because once it's solved, nobody would require help any longer.
Like dave, I'm rather the technical guy ...

Hm you did read my post before, didn't you? :)
Or did you find the way on your own how to "legally" get the password? :)

Now you have to find an object hidden in a cavity which can only be reached by the ladder.

It's a location in which the game writes "You can go nowhere at all" after climbing down.

Somewhere else you need a password. While I kinda "cheated" to find it, I hope someone can actually find it.

Yes I did, but I also had to look into the program code to get a "legal" way to obtain it.
Imagine a bookshelf which hasn't been "treated" for 2 weeks in an apartment. Now if you "treated ...

OK, I've given this a try in WinAPE, and it worked perfectly.

- insert first .dsk, autostart

- now you're prompted to insert second .dsk

- use the menu to insert second .dsk and *TURN OFF* autorun. For that, you have to clear the box of the file dialog which pops up.
If you autorun the 2nd disk ...

Yup, that's just what I did.

And write down stuff along playing, so I could just "walk through" the whole thing up to where I was before.
