Re: murder mystery

(yes, I know, I play lots of Spectrum games - if someone can tell me how to separate the text adventures from the arcade adventures on the BBC, I will certainly try them).
In these terms I put up a list at the if-wiki:

These are the Electron (the BBC Micro's ...

It's sort of SVG and not at the same time, I use Javascript to generate the SVG to make it easier to create the map, plus I also use Javascript to allow navigation 'twixt the tabs.

I've uploaded a slightly tweaked version, shrinking the font size and room size a wee bit (you can always zoom in ...

This does seem to be a two year old bug with the way the Mozilla engine handles em units (used to allow relative font sizes, so in theory we can resize the text).

The bug url is:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=305859

As it's taken 2 years with no fix, it may be possible to replace ...

The below update is a slightly improved version with the whole of Saga of a Spy part 1: Rick Hanson, which is a quite complicated map (over 150 rooms).
http://aimemorial.if-legends.org/maps/svg/rhanson/rhanson1.svg

It works perfectly in Opera 9.22 and Batik 1.7; the Adobe SVG viewer makes a good ...

Here's a slightly tuned example without images, of the first part of the map of Saga of a spy: Rick Hanson.

I've tuned it a bit so it only takes me about 15 minutes to create a map (moved all the calculations so that Javascript does them, rather than me).

The map is at /maps/svg/rhanson ...

Yep, it's a vector format with attached images. If I resize the images right and keep them as png format the size work out as (approx): SVG file: 24K
Images: 200K I've just done another one for Voodoo Castle (at a similar URL - just replace sorceror/sorceror.svg with voodoo/voodoo.svg - it won't ...

I normally used guemap to create and edit the map. Though I'm messing around with a better presentation format (as guemap hasn't been updated for a long time).

My current aim is to use SVG (scalable vector graphics); as an example, a map for Sorceror of Claymorgue Castle:

I've just posted up a new version of ascape - an interpreter and dumper for Adventurescape programming system (which Amnesia and Xanadu) are written in to the ifarchive (it's currently under unprocessed):

This can play most of the ...
