Re: North Star Games
Yes, by trying north from every possible location you eventually find the correct route. It was hardly a breeze to solve it.

Puzzle answers for Windmere Esate below:-
Windmere Estate is proving to be a rather more complex game than I had hitherto summised. It is also a better game than Zodiac Castle I think as it has cleverer and more intricate puzzles and generally seems more evocative in terms of atmosphere and ...

Re: North Star Games
The bug involving the grille in the torture chamber is fortunately not present in the North Star version, although I could not go north via the designated path from the rear door of the castle. I managed 480 points out of 470 (oddly) and deposited all 28 of the treasures but couldn't trigger the end ...

I have given up on WC. Perhaps those initials are apposite. There appears to be a bug which prevents entry to the rowing boat.

Re: Windmere Estate Apple II
I am hoping to give the North Star version a try soon. That is if I ever work out how to unlock the Wooden Shack door in Whembly Castle.

North Star Games
I have sent the Horizon emulator plus the Whembly Castle game and instructions for setup to CASA. They play surprisingly smoothly if slowly; up the speed in DOSBox-X. I will also send Zodiac Castle and Windmere Estate. I have started playing Castle and it seems to work fine. It will be interesting ...

Re: Excalibur by Jim Macbrayne 1983
Jim sent me an updated version of Excalibur recently. When I get home I will send it in (that is if you haven't already received it).

Re: Granny's Place
The missing entries for some verbs i.e. PUSH appear to run across all of Dian / Charles Crayne's text adventures. The others all seem finishable although I couldn't find one treasure in Monster Rally.

Re: Excalibur by Jim Macbrayne 1983
I will check my backups. I must still have it somewhere. I know setting up the workbenches on the emulator was a colossal pain in the behind. Amiga emulators are very intricate in my experience. Even RPCEmu for RISC and my HP3000 emulator were easier to get up and functioning.

Re: Excalibur by Jim Macbrayne 1983
There is an Amiga version of the game which Jim reliably informs me is bug free. He sent it to me some time ago but I haven't had the opportunity to set up an Amiga emulator to test it.

Re: Recovered Adventures
To be honest I haven't had much time to try it recently. I hope to in the near future. There is a definite dearth of unique Apple pure text offerings if you discount Éamon games and those with graphics so I like to try the ones that do exist.

No problem. Fuzzell and I had a lot of fun with this back in the day. It is obviously of a professional quality, reminding me of a Phoenix / Derek Haslam hybrid kind of game.

Re: Search for the Lost Orb
I finished this and put a map up on CASA if that's any help. I have a feeling the tentacled creature doesn't need solving.
