Re: Solution problem? Silverwolf

Thanks. Confirmed. I was able to finish the first part with this, and hit no problems in the second part.

Re: Solution problem? Mutiny (part 2)

No, there is no ruby in inventory:
"You have a dagger, a sharp stake, a sponge, a revolver, a rock, a monocle and an ornate snuffbox, while you are wearing your clothes."

However I did complete part 1 and I think I played it word for word. So if no ruby then apparently something is missing in the ...

Solution problem? The Prophecy (Pegasus Software)

One more Speccy adventure problem. This solution fails right near the end:
"...E,E,E (at the great fortress of the ancient kings, with all three armies assembled), SAY MARCH..."
There is no army there and SAY MARCH of course has no effect.
I've tried going further east but get killed by the opposing ...

Solution problem? The Gladiator (Pegasus Software)

Trying to solve this Spectrum adventure. My recording so far is here:
https://cl4.org/__STUCK_FINALISED_TheGladiator_PegasusSoftware.rzx

I'm about here (in the provided solution):
...get mug, west, south x 3, give goat (to goatherd)...

Note you have to SALUTE PATROL when you see the patrol at any ...

Re: Solution problem? Feasibility Experiment

Mind-blowing. Thanks. We got "Blizzard Pass" (by Alan Cox, later known for his work on Linux networking) with our Spectrum +2, and that had an overt text/graphics switch. I remember as a kid we saw "what now? I am freezing" and typed "SIT ON A ROTTEN TOMATO" and laughed our little heads off.
When I ...

Solution problem? The Ellisnore Diamond

This solution (again on the Speccy) breaks down at EXAMINE BIBLE.
Something is supposed to fall out of the bible (a permit), but it doesn't. I've also tried READ BIBLE, READ PSALMS, etc. with no luck.

RZX can be found here:

Solution problem? Mutiny (part 2)

This is a nice game that really uses the 128K memory with a lot of atmospheric text. Feels like being in a Dickens novel. Just fun to read.

Part 1 solution is fine.
Part 2 solution stops working at THROW RUBY (response: "Why throw it?").

I have got a Spectrum RZX recording up to the problematic ...

Solution problem? Silverwolf

Please look at the Silverwolf solution here (part 1):
https://solutionarchive.com/file/id%2C7263/

And this RZX (Spectrum input recording) file, very near the end:
https://cl4.org/__STUCK_FINALISED_Silverwolf_Part1.rzx

Here we are supposed to RUB RING WITH SCARF, but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Solution problem? Feasibility Experiment

Hi. Possible problem here:
https://solutionarchive.com/file/id,272/

I admit I don't understand this game at all since there seem to be no room descriptions, just unhelpful pictures. Maybe there's a text option I don't know about...?

Anyway, Jacob's solution fails at GET EMERALDS since we are ...

Re: Possible solution problem - Murder Mystery Weekend

Unfortunately I reached the point that says: "Now head all the way back to the place where your ticket was blown away and look through the telescope".
My ticket was blown away...? What? Where? No memory of that.
OK. I think I'm done with this one. But thanks for the help.
Another reminder that hints ...

Re: Possible solution problem - Murder Mystery Weekend

Okay! Solution is missing an E (east) move:
ask barman about servants, search seats
...should be...
ask barman about servants, e, search seats

I had tried going west to the lounge which wasn't cutting it. Thanks again.

Re: Spectrum game "Who is Gordon Bennet"

Yeah, I should have mentioned the "Matilda" name! I've played a few in that Zikov series (and the humour somewhat clicks with me -- although he sometimes throws in totally random adjectives from a thesaurus, like we will see an "effulgent chair" or "timid table" or what not).
I hope we can find it ...

Spectrum game "Who is Gordon Bennet"

The main Spectrum archive sites list a Spectrum text adventure called "Who is Gordon Bennet", e.g. here:
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/32150/ZX-Spectrum/Who_Is_Gordon_Bennet
However, no download is available. I dropped a line to Peter at SpectrumComputing and he said: "Sorry no idea. If you ...

Got the whole solution working now.
Not BOX OF MATCHES, nor MATCHES, but the correct line is apparently the rather Seussian PUT BOX IN SOCKS.

Re: Possible solution problem - Murder Mystery Weekend

Okay. I tried it again. Now I get as far as the barman telling about the alien abduction of the "uncivil servants", but the next instruction to SEARCH SEATS does not work -- nothing is found. I also tried it in the adjacent room, and with CHAIRS instead of SEATS -- no luck.

A Z80 snapshot of the ...
