The Big Bang Theory has Sheldon play an unnamed game once. Probably Adventureland, since he talks about picking up mud. In another episode, he has a whole evening planned for playing Zork.

somebody has a great idea but lacks money.
The original premise is that unless people back it, the project never happens because the project owner doesn't have the necessary funds to finance it.
That means I would be investing (putting risk capital into a project), but the model's payoffs aren't ...

I somehow find this whole crowdfunding strange. If it is an investment, because I'm basically putting my money at risk, I should really get an according share of the profits afterwards by the laws of capitalism. If, however, it is simply a preorder, because all I get in the end is the finished ...
