Re: ADRIFT platforms

I don't see why PC Booter should have its own entry. Think of it this way, how many people will run the older PC titles native on hardware from that era as opposed to running those games on an emulator hosted on modern hardware? More recent Windows titles, however, will more likely be run native ...

Re: ADRIFT platforms

Sorry, this batch approach will lead to one major issue. Many games before, say, 1987 were actually not for MS-DOS, but in various self-booting formats.

Re: Twine games?

Since a number of participants to this thread remarked not being familiar with the subject in question, let me try and explain a further distinction. I'd say there are two different kinds of games in question there.

1. "Classic" CYOA type games. You have a paragraph of text (or three paragraphs, or ...

Re: Not a text adventure...?

I confirm it's a board game conversion, exactly adapting the original. Pretty cool game. It does contain a number of typical text adventure elements; the main stepping stones towards each cases solution being textual riddles, language/word play etc. Though I agree, depending on the definition of ...

Cool! Just a pity that all those which have no downloadable version will be lost forever in no time.

Atari Legend external links broken

Their game search URI apparently changed, so all links go to 404.

:) Mostly the same here. Unless there is a special mechanic, like in Zombies, then I want to get a feeling for how this works and I give it a try.

Re: Temple of terror going through the stone door at last

How do you go about it these days? Do you actually roll a character, honestly calculate the fights, try your luck etc.?

Re: Temple of terror going through the stone door at last

I'm always a bit torn about these revivals. Eye of the Dragon , for example, was pretty awful, I thought. Blood of the Zombies was so-so… but then, I sometimes have the creeping feeling that I would have enjoyed them if they had come out when I was a kid ;) But it's the same with the old books ...

Re: Temple of terror going through the stone door at last

Great news! I actually re-played this game last year (after wading through the book first). Can't say I was impressed, but nevertheless, very nice to see the final boss at last, even if it's just through a screenshot :D

Re: Random game link failing

+ is the RFC standardized way to encode a space in an URI . - is a non-standardized Google convention, which I believe they introduced for better human readability compared to a +. Since the idea is for this part of the URI to attract bots rather than humans, I don't think it matters. Unless Google ...

I'm making an assumption about the code here admittedly, but I can check in a week when I'll be back home.

Re: Random game link failing

Sure, but a code workaround (replacing the slash in the URI with something harmless) would be a change of one line. So probably worth it?
