Re: When can I expect my submissions to be approved?

Hello, and welcome.

As Strident mentions, some submissions are easier to approve or add than others. Generally speaking, reviews and submissions for new games take the longest time to be added; whilst simpler fare such as solutions in text file format, or screenshots of the correct size and colour ...

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted

Camelot deleted, and also the authors C. P. M. Chapman and G. R. Brooks since Camelot was the only program of theirs in the database.

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted

Mousey, thank you for your feedback.

I usually defer to Jacob when it comes to removing entries from the database as there a few odd games here. For example, there is the Multiple Choice genre which may not fall strictly under text adventure banner but has never-the-less found a home at CASA. I ...

Re: Articles and reviews

In addition to what Garry has written, "Site > Submit contents" is for when you want to add a game that is not yet on the site, to correct a mistake (such as a misspelled author's name), or similar.

For articles you may need to contact Jacob directly (try PM).

Re: Possible solution problem - Murder Mystery Weekend

Would be curious to hear opinions of anyone else who may be peeking at this thread.

It's not explicit that it is an instruction to be carried out there and then, so I can see why it can lead to confusion, therefore I've changed the solution.

The paragraph that read:
At the start select your ...

Re: Solutions with errors

There's a few, so is there a preferred part of the forum to post them?
"Site feedback & announcements" is probably the best place to post corrections. Though please keep in mind that it is always possible that a game, and thus the solution, may differ slightly between platforms or release versions ...

Re: Savage Island part 1 - no knife?

Our own site has a page about emulators - https://solutionarchive.com/emulators/ - though it is several years old and some of the links may be out of date. But not to worry as we also have a thread about emulator links - https://solutionarchive.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=476&start=15 - though is ...

Re: submitting new games

Yes, this does seem to be the way to submit new games (at least it appears on the submission list as a new game).

I've added Mysterious Realm to the site, so if you have any more information about the game it should be more convenient to add that info now.

Re: Reluctant Hero BBC Quilled game

I haven't played the game so these are just guesses, but is the lift the only way down from your hotel room? Or, if the problem is that you have to wait for the lift to open on your floor, then perhaps you need to call the lift or jam the lift door open before entering your room.

Re: The Orion Quest c64

I wouldn't be surprised if the original game came on tape only and the game became corrupted when someone tried copying it to disk.

Strident wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2020 1:32 pm It would probably be worth mentioning the fact that a corrupted/non-working version of the game exists, on the game page (or in the solution).
I've added a warning to the "Notes", please check it to see if I have got it right.

Re: Castle Blackstar - Getting past the dragon

Well done!

It's always the way, when you first play a game you sail past certain problems, thus you don't consider them to be difficult and the solutions never lodge in your memory. Years later, should you play the game again, you come across the same problems, only now the spark of inspiration ...

Re: Castle Blackstar - Getting past the dragon

I now have a fresh idea! The problem may lie in the emulator you are using, so have you tried other emulators?

Re: Castle Blackstar - Getting past the dragon

When playing Spectrum games I usually set the emulator to emulate a 128k Spectrum and use "Tape Loader" to load the game, but I have noticed that some games become problematical when loaded in this manner. For these games I either choose "48 BASIC" from the menu or emulate a 48k Spectrum, and then ...
