Re: Possible solution problem - Se-kaa of Assiah

I note that the solution says that you will need to have made at least ten turns before the cloak and the staff turn up.

I was given them, by the villagers, at the far eastern parts of the village and far western parts of the village. Note: these are the village locations with the little huts; the ...

Re: Possible solution problem - Laskar's Return

The solution appears to be missing the stage where you OPEN the PARASOL... that stops the coconut from landing on your head.

Re: Possible solution problem - Unborn One, The

In the end it was a more straightforward issue...

The command needed to TALK to the shroud is...

SAY TO SHROUD "HELP"

That will give the medallion and will hopefully allow the "lost soul" to progress.

[The solution may well work as is for another version of the game. It was quite usual for games ...

The elephant will kill you if you've dropped the banana at location 12 (the elephant grass).

I've not looked through the CASA solution to see what is the issue with that one. If it ...

The leopard will kill you if it spots you carrying its meat/carrion.

There is a tiny chance that this will happen each time the player is wandering around a certain group of locations... 5%

Re: Possible solution problem - Murder Mystery Weekend

Will check this one... but I wonder if it's simply a case of the fact that the "lost soul" hasn't started the game by doing EXAMINE SEATS, FEEL GAP to find the wallet/purse; as mentioned in the introductory paragraph in the solution.

Re: Possible solution problem - 39 Steps

Seems more of an issue with the "lost soul" not liking solutions that don't give you all the specific inputs, rather than a bug in the solution.

To me, the solutions seems to suggest inputs like PUT MATCHES IN SOCKS... rather than HIDE MATCHES IN SOCKS... but I'll check through the database.

Re: Possible solution problem - The Bermuda Triangle

My gut feeling is that if there's a section when the game is chucking the player out to the title screen then it's likely to be a corrupted version of the game, rather than a bug in the game itself. But I'll investigate this one further.

Re: Possible solution problem - Unborn One, The

Interesting... Looking quickly at the code there's no real reason why the solution shouldn't work but it certainly doesn't in the version I just tried.

I wonder... I need to check the flags that Clive used in the game. It's possible he may have used a reserved system flag that was technically free ...

Re: Possible solution problem - Cup, The

Which Spectrum version is the person trying to play, Gerard?

There are at least two distinct ones... an earlier Quilled version and the later PAWed version.

Re: Possible solution problem - Theseus and the Minotaur

I will take a look at this. There were at least five different versions of Theseus... it started life as a GAC game before later being reworked by Tony as a PAWed title... so there were Amstrad, Spectrum & C64 GACed versions out there as well as the later PAWed Spectrum and CP/M versions...

The ...

Re: Savage Island part 1 - no knife?

The ZX Spectrum is the worst, but it sounds like you're familiar with that.

The Spectrum is the easiest system to emulate! :) So much more logical than all the other horrible ones. :) :D With their cloads and chains and horrible 8,1 nonsense.

Very easy to play without installing anything too ...
