Re: Westbury Mystery
Westbury Mystery has a "RAM save" feature that allows you to save your position in the game in RAM rather than to tape or disc.

Re: Westbury Mystery
I managed to play the version from the IF Archive, and, making no attempt to solve the game myself, I just followed Dorothy's walkthrough -- which, by the way, has a few minor errors -- and I was able to complete the game with a 100% score:

Re: Adventureland.Z5 problem with Genie
Here's a direct port (to BBC BASIC) of the TRS-80 BASIC version of Adventureland as published in SoftSide magazine in 1980. Download or play online:

And, just for the heck of it, here's the listing extracted from the disk-image and saved as plain text:Garry wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 2:36 amto answer your question about whether 'Rainbow Adventure' has been typed in, here it is in all its glory on a disk image.

For the record, here's the original(?) source code for One Room (taken from one of the Rainbow Book Of Adventures disk-images that are floating about online somewhere):

Re: Does 'De Tijdmachine' exist for Spectrum ZX?
Made some progress on my independent translation of the BBC Micro version of De Tijdmachine.
The majority of the output text has been translated into English. (Thanks, Google Translate!)
Input is still in Dutch though. (Translation coming soon.)

Re: Does 'De Tijdmachine' exist for Spectrum ZX?
I've emailed you what I have. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got it. If it's hard to find, maybe we could add it to CASA as a fixed game? Now that Jim Gerrie has done an English translation (thanks Jim), is anyone up for porting that to the BBC and Spectrum?
I'll look into what needs ...

Re: Does 'De Tijdmachine' exist for Spectrum ZX?
Hi. Could anyone direct me to the BBC BASIC version of this game, please? I can't seem to find it online anywhere.
I've found a BASICODE version, but I get the impression from this thread and from the CASA entry that there's a separate BBC BASIC version out there..?

He'd rather go by just "lurkio".Garry wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2020 1:27 am Just for the credits, does Lurkio have a real name? I'm sure I've got it somewhere, but it's quicker to ask.

Nellan Is Thirsty (1980) ported to BBC BASIC
Just wanted to mention the new BBC BASIC port (for the BBC Micro, or BBC BASIC For Windows, etc.) of Furman Smith's child-friendly text adventure game Nellan Is Thirsty:

Random game link failing
Hi. The game "Greg Lemon/Soda - Bacardi Feeling!" appeared in the Random Game box on the CASA homepage, but the link doesn't work:

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)
The menu item for loading disk-images and tape-images just causes the emulator to freeze.
You are not the only one to experience this problem, see if pressing command-F twice fixes the problem (taken from the thread http://archive.worldofdragon.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5464&p=14608#p14608 ...

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)
there are Mac builds for XRoar - http://www.6809.org.uk/xroar/ - they may not be the very latest version but they should do the job (or if you are up to it, you could try compiling a Mac build from the latest source code).
I eventually got some sort of XRoar installation working on my Mac.

Re: An Actor's Nightmare (TRS-80 CoCo)
Thanks for the info, Alastair. I may well try one of the emulators you mention because although I have now got Windows VCC working under CrossOver Mac (which is essentially a wrapper for WINE), it does make the laptop run a little hot, for some reason!
