Hey, really glad you enjoyed it!

As for Julian Rignall, I don't think it was his fault in the end, though apparently he could have handled the situation a little better and allowed the column to end in a proper fashion.

Nice interview, but where can you obtain the games that Keith mentioned?

If you mean his old games...

Pen and the Dark is up for grabs on Gamebase64.com

His early trilogy is currently unavailable, but I'm working on getting hold of it.

I meant the trilogy of Fairytale, Wonderland, and Dreamworld. All the best in getting hold of them.

Alastiar, did you ever get a hold of these game?

I need some alternatives to what we are playing now.

You're asking the wrong guy, I haven't found them in fact I'd clean forgotten about them. The question is, has Jacob?

P.S. Happy New Year to one and all.

I did get Fairytale from Keith, but as a real tape. I haven't got a clue as how to transfer it. But thanks for the reminder, I should probably investigate.

Fairytale is a TRS-80 game isn't it? There are some instructions on how to convert TRS-80 tapes here.
http://www.trs-80.com/trs80-info-convertingtapes.htm

I suspect that any tape player will do and instead of "Goldwave" you could use "Audacity" http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ should you require a sound program.

Just remember to restrict the file name of the wave file to eight letters (plus .wav) because "WAV2CAS" is a DOS program and so cannot handle longer file names.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, it's a TRS-80 game.
Now I just need to locate someone with a tape deck. They seem to have fallen out of fashion during the last few years.

No Walkman or similar hiding at the back of a cupboard? After that, I suppose the most difficult thing would be finding a lead to connect the tape player to your computer.

No walkman or anything like that - and everybody I know seem to have ditched theirs years ago. But I will locate one.

Have you tried to contact Steve Brown who conserves any tape games to run on a pc?

the TZX vault.

I've used a really old walkman (used it all the way 'til 1999, when I got my discman) to transfer games from tape before.

The major problem is that you can get some constant noise on the line which you may have to remove (quite easy with audacity's noise removal stuff - just remember to leave some silence at the start to get the pattern).

I would offer to help transfer it; but I'm about 800 miles away :-)
