I'll ask him :) I talked to him last year so I'll dig out his address.

Beneath the Temple of Zeus is in twice. Exact duplicates (3955 3956).

To avoid a duplicate entry: gamingafter40's submission of "Major Istar - Under the Doomed Sea" is the same game as "Aquanaut 471" 1381. (I've added gamingafter40's extra information to the existing entry.)

"Mouse Man" 1181 and 3144 need to be merged.

"Mozg Procesor" 1808 and 3146 need to be merged. Although the Atari version is apparently written in BASIC, and I assume Krzysztof Piwowarczyk converted the game to the Quill for the Spectrum.

All entries have been fixed.

The only issue is that the Spectrum version was apparently released two years prior to the Atari version (1989 vs 1991). Either the conversion went the other way, or the Atari's year of release is wrong.

As you can see from these screenshots version 1.0c http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-40 ... 20670.html was released in 1990 and 1.0d http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-40 ... _3564.html in 1991, so who knows when version 1.0a or 1.0 was released?

"Orion Quest, The" 2281 should be kept, 3208 should be deleted. According to the bottom of this advert http://www.worldofspectrum.org/showmag. ... 000020.jpg there should also be a BBC version of this game, but I have been unable to confirm that such a version was released (neither have I discovered a C64 version of "Quest for Eternity".)

"Princesa, La" the Atari version of this game 1783 appears to be another conversion of a Spectrum Quill game (3273) by Devwebcl, see the links at http://gury.atari8.info/details_games/5875.htm

"Quest For the Golden Eggcup" 423 and 424 need to be merged

I've fixed both of the above.

In terms of Orion's Quest for the BBC; I've check the Beeb and Elk archives and the list of Beeb games missing and I can't find any mention of it anywhere. It may be on an A&B Computing companion disk/tape (as it was published by ASP); but for now we'll leave it unmentioned!

Ah; the faults of asynchronous posting. I've sorted out the QftGE now - that was fun; I hate it when games get a minor update when they get re-released!

We'll make an educated guess and say 1989 - problem solved :)

As for Golden Eggcup, it has given me a headache on earlier occasions, too.

"Return of the Joystick" 444 is the same game as "The Return of the Holy Joystick" 3332. After moving the solution, 444 should be deleted.

"Ship of Doom" http://solutionarchive.com/game/id,490/ and http://solutionarchive.com/game/id,2451/ should be merged, and 2451 deleted.

"Silverwolf" 3417 and 696 should be merged, and one deleted.

"Spell of Christmas Ice, A" 1609 is another Devwebcl conversion (see http://gury.atari8.info/details_games/5908.htm for details) of a Spectrum Quill game found at 3450. So 1609 should be deleted.

"Sphere of Q'li" (no "The" and no upper case "L") 3452 and 1524 should be merged, and 1524 deleted.

"SPONGE" (all upper case) 507 and 3454 should be merged, and 507 deleted. Note that the solution and map are the same on both pages so should not be carried over from one page to the other.

"Survival" 809 and "Survive" 3495. I have not been able to find out true title but I believe it to be called Survival (or possibly Survival - The Games Part One) rather than Survive, which means that after merging that 3495 should be deleted.

"Swamp, The" (originally called "The Valley") 3501 is an RPG (see http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseek ... id=0017441 and for a bit of fun compare it with another RPG called "The Valley" at http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseek ... id=0005535). So should it remain in the database?

Well spotted!
Some notes:
- Ship of Doom: the 1995 came from WoS, but I don't know if they've deleted it since, because there's not a trace of it on their site.
- Sphere of Q'li (what an odd name, anyway!): the alternate title was actually straight from the horse's mouth. Maybe he remembers it wrong, maybe it was used on the CPC.
- Survival/Survive: I have deleted Survive and notified WoS. Obviously (?) the same game.
- The Swamp: silly me! After I received the import file from WoS, I notified them that The Swamp and The Valley was the same game, but of course I forgot to remove the entry from the import ;) At any rate, it doesn't belong here.
