"Glasgow Murder, A" appears twice at 2855 and 827.
"2855" contains more detail but "827" contains a solution, because of this I will leave it to those with greater site powers than me to merge the two into one entry.

I've fixed it (and got rid of one of the .rtf files - so a bonus). This is one of the problems with the Spectrum import, we've had a few duplications which we fix as we see them.
Thanks for pointing it out!

These two entries seem to be for the same game "Aventura original" 2148 and "Aventura Original, La" 2517.
Again they need to be merged as each entry contains information. Also, the name for one of the authors needs to be checked, is he called "Manual Gonzalez" or "Manuel Gonzalez Martinez"?

Fixed now; this is another one from the Spectrum import - we're getting there

Well spotted. They've been merged.

Commando Adventure 1685 should be deleted as it is the same game as Commando (which is also the proper title) at 2626. Also the name "Peter Robinson" should be removed from the list of authors as it seems that he prefers to go by the name "Peter L. Robinson".
A problem with the 1685 entry is that it lists the game as being available for the Atari 400/800 platform. However it would appear that this version was created by someone calling himself Devwebcl who uses a script to port Spectrum Quill games into Atari games, see
http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/11 ... the-quill/ and the author detail at
http://gury.atari8.info/details_games/5874.htm. As the Atari version is not an official release should this site mention the Atari game?

I've deleted both the game and the author - as well as a reference to the Atari version.
We've debated these unofficial conversions in the admin team, and my p.o.v. remains that they don't belong here. My personal wish is that CASA should be a database of which games have been released for which machines. While I think it's great for Atari owners to get a wider selection of games for their machine, including hacks such at this sort of defeats the purpose of listing the platforms. But we can always include a note in the synopsis saying that another version exists.

Were there any other games credited to Devwebcl and if so have they been removed?
Anyway, I appear to found a mistake by WoS. The title "Doctor Who and the Warlords" 2714 is wrong and should be deleted, it is actually called "Doctor Who and the Warlord" and already has an entry at 2035. The mistake by WoS is understandable as they are going by a news item in the magazine "Micro Adventurer" it also appears that the Spectrum version was never released, so I am unsure if I should add the Spectrum platform to the 2035 entry. Also, putting more trust in Dave and Iamaran rather than the magazine it would seem the the company was called "BBCSoft" and not "BBC Software".

"Gates of Garralon, The" the solution from 958 should be moved to 2844, and 958 deleted. Also, the author's name is Steven not Steve so "Steve Cox" should also be deleted.

Not quite fixed, you've missed out "Doctor Who and the Warlord" (see above).
A question mark hangs over "Hades" (1525 and 2888). In moving from GAC to PAW I do not know if the author Phillip L. Ramsay changed, added, or removed any puzzles, so it may be that both entries are required.

They should probably be merged - even if there are slight differences in different versions of the same game we usually munge them together (cf Adventureland, Colossal Cave etc). We allow multiple solutions for this reason.
I'll dig out grackle and unpaw and do a quick comparison in the morning.

"Magma Man" 1474 and 3069 are the same game and should be merged.
Not a duplicate, but would someone alter the synopsis for "Methyhel - The Special Edition" 3102 so that the word "Methyhel" links to the entry for "Methyhel" 1004 ? (I would do this myself if I knew the code format, but I don't so I can't.)

Done, for future use, the synopsis text takes bbcode (as used in the forum), so the above would be defined as:
Code: Select all
[url=http://solutionarchive.com/game/id,1004/]Methyhel[/url]
I'm not convinced that the special edition should be a separate entity, but for now I'll leave it.
I've also merged the two Hades entries - it looks like Mr Ramsey did this a lot (write on CPC in GAC, then port to the Spectrum in PAW - why he didn't use GAC on both platforms I don't know)!
