The Castle of Mydor feels like Mountain Valley's version of Bastow Manor. The story of the game seems to be (I have to guess, there is no lead in story or introduction) something like
"You are a brave adventurer are here on a whim, Your quest is to defeat the evil Wizard and restore the castle's treasured crown back to where it belongs! Can you defeat the Wizard and win?"

Unlike some of the other games, this is not a treasure hunt, its a quest. The puzzles in this game are a bit, anti-logical ^_^ if you will and are resolved more on luck "I wonder what happens if I try this..." than the "well, that makes sense" method of problem solving. Like other Mountain Valley games, there are several very crafty hints and riddles scattered about to help you solve some of the problems.

This game also has a few red herrings and useless objects in it. A common problem in these games is that you can only carry five objects at any given time and there are far more than five objects in the game. Usually I have a "central repository" room where I just collect all the objects and drop them in one room, then I always know where something is if I get the urge to try one particular object on a puzzle. Most objects only have a lifespan of one use per game but you never can tell when something might get used twice........
The parser is the same as all the other games, the standard two word verb noun kind, fortunatly, you don't have to try and guess any verbs to finish the game, which is a bonus ^_^.
This game doesnt appear to be bugged like Himalayan Oddessy or Dark Planet, so if you already have a copy of this game you don't need to download the one on this site.
There does appear to be one bug, but it might NOT be a bug perse. Once you have defeated the troll he does not reappear until you have obtained the crown. It clearly says you kill the troll and knock him into the lava, so this second troll must be his brother ^_^.
The final bug is in the end sequence, the last puzzle you have to solve is getting past the armour and into the throne room, but... you can enter the throne room without stopping the armour but the game won't acknowledge you have won until you have stoped the armour, which is meant to stop you from getting into the throne room in the first place (only once you have the crown....)
