Escape and Evasion I: Stalag 23 Walkthrough by Alex Dijkstra for the c64. ***Some notes and hints*** -There are two ways of escaping from the camp and therefore two ways of solving the game. Escaping by the fence is the easiest one because you need to solve fewer puzzles. -A day consists of ninety turns. 45 turns daylight and 45 turns darkness. When you sleep (which you can only do inside a hut) 45 turns pass which means that when it was day it turns night and when it was night it turns day. -When it gets dark you've 5 turns to enter a hut before being caught by a guard. When you have the wire cutter you can walk in the dark longer. -Regardless of the escape route you choose, you are always caught after your first try to escape. You are put in jail "the cooler" and your possessions are taken to the German Barracks. -Don't enter locations 22 or 52 when you have objects needed for your escape in your possession, because you are caught by a guard. -On both routes you need to collect the food, false papers, map, compass and money before you are able to escape. -You can carry 8 objects. -When you are inside a 'dangerous' location you have only 7 turns to escape before you are caught by a guard. EXAMINE WINDOW (one of the bars is loose), REMOVE BAR, SLEEP (if you escape at night you are caught by a guard), GET OUT, SE, S, S, SE, GO BARRACKS, GET FOOD, GET PAPERS, GET MAP, GET COMPASS, GET CUTTER (you don't need it to make a hole anymore, but you can't walk around at night without the wire cutter, N (you have to leave within 7 turns), GO BARRACKS, GET SWEATER, GET MONEY, N, WEAR SWEATER, NW, NE, N, SLEEP (you wake when it is dark), S, NE, N (thanks to the sweater you can hide for the guard. you see a tin can), N (the hole is still there), OUT. You've escaped!!!.
