Your objective is clear – find your grant cheque and return it to your room. Hints: You need Norm, who gives you information about what to avoid and about the nature of the beasts you meet. How to get Norm? He's a mouse, and mice like... Leave the bottle by the bath with the acid. Some objects are needed more than once. Talk to the creatures you meet. Type INFO when you come across a beast. HELP also gives you tips, including what not to do. Can't cross to the island? You'll need to find a way to get across. You need a weapon to fight the beasts. Take what you find early on. Later you will have a more formidable weapon, but don't abandon the knife. You can type STATUS, to see your skill, strength and luck points. Fighting beasts: Notice what happens after you fight after you have the pendant, and deduce the strategy you should use. Until then fight the beasts as best as you can using lots of saves/restores. It seems that the stronger you are the more objects you can carry. The walls close in on you? Carry something that would stop that. What to do at the river? You need to carry two objects and throw one of them. Strength points can be obtained in several ways. Throwing a coin into the well provides a forcefield. Drinking the potion and the wine (the correct colour) helps also. There are several red herrings: painting, shovel, nugget, pot of boiling water. Solution: You see a mouse.
