Waiting for the Day Train by Dee Cooke This was a Parsercomp 2021 entry I beta-tested and enjoyed. It's pretty short but had enough wrinkles I had fun re-sorting out when I sat down in 2023 to write a walkthrough. It has a time limit, but with this walkthrough, you should go through it with no problem. Note that some rejects still cause time to advance, although with a 58-turn buffer, that shouldn't be a major factor. Solution by Andrew Schultz for solutionarchive.com. >PUSH ROCK >GET SAW >CUT TREE This turn takes 7 minutes, but don't worry. This is the only time-intensive action. >N This location has some unusual directions. If you are on the bridge or stones, you need to go east or west before going east or west leads you somewhere new. Standing on the bridge or stones will let you see something. >CLIMB BRIDGE A gem appears! >W >CLIMB BRIDGE >GET GEM >W >GET POLE >CLIMB STONES >E >E >X OUTCROP >>X CRACK >REACH CRACK >GET BOOK >READ IT Otherwise, "Why would you want to say that out loud?" >E >THROW GEM >U >W I needed trial and error for the verb below, but I should've realized there was no apparent purpose for this room, and therefore it had to be used for something! >FISH >SAY COTTERIL >E >GIVE FISH >E Aww! But poor wildcat, it's going to be stuck in the dark now, I think. You may wish to save here to see the bad ending, which I find rather neat. Note that the score you get depends on when you make it to the train station and not when you WAIT FOR TRAIN. So you might as well try the three actions below. I got a score of 63. >>X BUSH >>READ PLAQUE >>X WAGON >WAIT FOR TRAIN Okay, one last chance to wait and lose. >ENTER TRAIN You win!
