CLASSROOM CHAOS by Dave Watson and Richard Wright Central Solutions Spectrum 48 This is primarily a trivia game, as you must answer questions posed by several of your teachers. It may require you to access an encyclopaedia for some answers, or the Internet, or people who speak French and German. If you fail (you have four chances), you will be sent to the adjustment unit, from which you eventually escape. Meanwhile your goal is clear your name. The school’s Challenge Gold Cup has been stolen and the headmaster thinks you did it. There are random and chance elements to this game, so only hints rather than a walkthrough will be given. The puzzles are quite easy. It does not seem to matter the order in which you do things, except possibly toward the end of the game. You may need to find the diary before you find the missing object. Teachers who need objects or answers: Mr. Puce needs flowers for his still life. Mr. Puce also wants to know who painted “The Laughing Cavalier.” Mrs. Birch wants the year of the Battle of Bannockburn. Mr. Whackem wants to know who wrote “Ode to a Nightingale”. Mr. Grodger wants to know the capital of Norway. Mr. Twadell wants to know the square root of 1024. Mr. Duffer wants to know in what part of your body is the femur. Madame Vite wants to know the French word for the colour of herbs. Miss Himmler wants to know the German word for the colour of the sky. Mr. Hollycock will give a pound to whoever catches him a gatekeeper (a type of butterfly). Teachers who can be safely ignored: Miss Hassle who is setting up an aquarium. Mr. Potter who has a piece of paper. Mrs. Plodd. Dr. Gortoid Miss Curvey who speaks in Latin. I believe she says something like “do not judge your servant, Lord”. Mrs. Dowdy. Mr. Puce when he mutters “La Grande Jatte.” Red herrings: brown bird You need help to do Basher’s math homework when you give him his jotter. The brainest student can help, but she wants something first. When you give it to him, he tells you what to do. Need money? You can get some by giving a person what you want. If it gets stolen, there is another opportunity to get some money. A butterfly net can be found. Need help to get up a tree? The crate is useful. Not working? It will at the end of the game. You need to get into the biology lab. Dig first. Try the cricket match. In order to find sweets for Swotty, once you have completed most of the puzzles, WAIT at the College Road. WAITing is also needed when you see Spotty. You can’t really follow him, so you must anticipate where he is going to go. Have you heard him talk to Sneaky? Then you know where he is going. Wait for him at the cricket match before you go there.
