Holy Horrors (List_of_hints_and_takeable_objects_in_Holy_Horrors.txt)

LIST OF HINTS AND TAKEABLE OBJECTS IN HOLY HORRORS
--------------------------------------------------

This is an awkwardly constructed game marred by the necessity for illogical actions and pointless
graphics which only appear on the first visit to locations and do not depict the portable objects
contained therein; presumably these should be the most important things to show in a room location
but there you go. It is easy to make unwinnable. If you hear footsteps then you cannot win; this
is presumably to let you know you have screwed up but it is hardly an obvious deduction to draw from
the sound. There is one red herring, the human skull and an inventory limit but there are few
objects to carry anyway. The underground section must be tackled first as you can only bypass the
crocodile once.

1. It is far from obvious which objects to buy at the market stall. One is clued by the sign in the
forest clearing; the other may be worked out if you have met the animal blocking the castle
entrance.
2. The hollowed tree contains something useful.
3. Man's best friend must be handed over.
4. The troll isn't really asleep. He must be distracted.
5. The butler can miraculously carry things even when handcuffed to a wall!
6. Can't access something obviously fake? Try a magic word.
7. There are two uses for the candle. The second less obvious one opens new possibilities, together
with another magic word.
8. The butler is a coward but also useful for revealing a crime.
9. The moat is uncrossable until you have spent some of your plunder.
10. The combination is a dreadful pun. It took me a while before I clocked it.
11. You can't access the hole in the ceiling. At least not from down below.
12. The perfume bottle carries another dreadful pun. Where are Alex Higgins and Oliver Reed when
you need them? Perhaps on the television.
13. You need to brace yourself against the evil man.
14. The candle can only be taken downstairs once without blowing out so don't leave yourself
needing to revisit the area.
