This game has random and chance elements which may it difficult to play. It 
also is unnecessarily complex. The objective is to get particular treasures 
and carry them (not wear them) to the ferry. There are several places you can 
die after a few moves, so either leave or perform an action. This walkthrough 
earns 80%, and does not visit all the locations. Periodically you need to 
rest and/or eat, which will make you stronger. Sometimes you are too weak, 
and will automatically rest. Certain actions will cost you many strength 
points (like opening the furnace and being thrown across the room), others 
will only cost a few (getting thrown into the pond). (It is unfortunate that 
you cannot check your status.) You will come across many characters randomly 
many of whom are irrelevant, but some take some of your items.

The items you need to have at the end: crown, ring, ruby, pouch, wand.

INVENTORY (nothing), E, E, S, S, EXAMINE SIGN (a monk wearing a ring kneeling 
in the centre of a stone circle), W, W, TAKE CHEESE, EAT CHEESE, E, S, S, 
TAKE CORPSE (a ghoul grabs it and sneaks away with it; alternatively the 
ghoul grabs it and so then follow him), W, W, W, ENTER MILL, UP, EXAMINE 
WINDOW (you see a burial ground north of the milestone), DOWN, E, W, S, S, S, 
S, ENTER HUT, TAKE SPADE, TAKE TINDERBOX, S, N, E, N, E, TAKE COIN, E, S, W, 
W, ENTER HUT, TAKE LANTERN, TAKE LUNCH, EXIT HUT, E, E, S, E, E, DIG HOLE 
(you see a ring), TAKE RING, WEAR RING.

Go E, ENTER WELL, N, EXAMINE DOOR (flimsy), BREAK DOOR, N, LIGHT LANTERN, 
REDESCRIBE, N, OPEN CHEST (you see a ruby and a rod), TAKE RUBY (avoid the 
rod), S, E (you see a pouch, axe, jewel, torch, painting), E (you see a 
crucible which you cannot take), RUB CRUCIBLE (an old man appears and wants 
you to kill the creature tormenting him and bring proof of its death and you 
will be rewarded), W, TAKE TORCH, N (you see a mummy), KILL MUMMY, DROP 
TORCH, TAKE TEETH, S, E (you get a wand), TAKE WAND, W, EAT LUNCH, TAKE 
POUCH, EXAMINE POUCH (only when need is great look within).

Go S, N, W, N, E, N, N, UP, PUSH DOOR, READ SIGN, N, E, DROP LANTERN, TAKE 
BOOK, OPEN BOOK (a map falls out), DROP BOOK, TAKE MAP, READ MAP (it shows 
the entrance to a deep place and crumbles), TAKE LANTERN, W, W (you a thrown 
into a pond), N, OFF LANTERN, DROP LANTERN, DROP TINDERBOX, ENTER APOTHECARY, 
BUY VIAL, EXIT APOTHECARY, DROP POUCH, DROP RUBY, DROP WAND, TAKE LANTERN, 
TAKE TINDERBOX, S, S, W, W, N (bushes prevent you from going further), ENTER 
MOUND.
