Notes
1. During the game you can use the MAGIK command to overcome many of the problems that beset you.
However, if used only once before reaching Dolmir you cannot use it again. The solution to one
problem (near the end of the game) relies on the fact that you haven't been tempted to use
magic up to that point. You are given the temptation on a number of occasions.
2. If you kill any of the villagers apart from Boldon you are arrested for murder when you return to
the village towards the end of the game.
3. If you kill Gideon between the village and the Halls then you will be arrested if you try to
enter the Halls.

Walk Through
(Start outside Markham Halls), INVENTORY (you are carrying food, coinage and a magic sphere), VIEW
FOOD, VIEW COINAGE, VIEW MAGIC SPHERE (focus for magician's will), E, E (village - Capriol the
Idiot appears), SPEAK TO CAPRIOL (he chatters to you but nothing of value is revealed at this
point), N (shoemakers - in here you can buy some boots but then you will have no money left),
EXAMINE BOOTS (Waldo approaches), ADMIRE BOOTS (he gives you a pair), WEAR FOOTWEAR.

S, S, S (tavern), EXAMINE INNKEEPER, EXAMINE DRUNKARD, BUY ALE, SPEAK BALCHEVIK (he tells you a
tale), GIVE BALCHEVIK TANKARD OF ALE (in return he gives you a key and tells you to "Look very
carefully beside the castle by the undergrowth), SHOW BUMBLE MAGIC SPHERE (the majesty of the sphere
seems to overpower him and he becomes subservient), SPEAK BUMBLE GIVE PIRADON EYEGLASS (he hands it
to you), SEARCH TAVERN (one of the tables appears somewhat unstable), EXAMINE TABLE (you find an
ancient tome propping a table leg - you can't carry it at the moment so we will pick it up
later).

N, N, E (grasslands - Boldok appears, who may or may not steal one of your possessions, you can kill
him with Magik but this is a temptation, any other course and he runs away, he will only respond if
you give him the magic sphere, so), GIVE BOLDOK MAGIC SPHERE, KILL BOLDOK (he vanishes and all his
possessions lie at your feet, including a crystal and the magic sphere), DROP EYEGLASS, DROP KEY,
GET CRYSTAL, W, S, S (back to tavern), GET ANCIENT TOME, READ ANCIENT TOME (the information is
however of no relevance to the game).

N, N (village), SHOW CAPRIOL CRYSTAL (he now follows you), SPEAK CAPRIOL (he tells you of a secret
entrance to a cave), E, E (escarpment - note don't try to climb the escarpment with the rope
which is nearby, as there is a sub-plot is this area which is a red herring), S, S (Capriol shows
you a cave and bounds off), EXAMINE CAVE, N, N, W, EXAMINE ROCKS (one appears to have been moved
recently), MOVE ROCK (you discover a length of rope but leave it as it isn't necessary to
complete the game), GET MAGIC SPHERE, E, S, S, CLIMB CAVE (it's very dark and if you try to go
north you fall down a crevice), USE CRYSTAL (it is now much brighter).

N (the way ahead is blocked by a rockfall), EXAMINE ROCKFALL (one rock seems to be loose from the
rest), DROP FOOD, GET ROCK (once again there is the temptation to use magik), PUT ROCK IN STREAM
(the flow of the stream is cut off, showing you a narrow passage through the rockfall), GET FOOD, N
(you cannot get past Omorod), GIVE OMOROD ANCIENT TOME (he becomes engrossed in the book), GET
SHIELD, N (outside tunnel entrance), N (waterfall), RAISE SHIELD (this is prevent the food becoming
soggy when going through the waterfall), E (through the waterfall to Basheeva).

DROP FOOD, DROP SHIELD, W, S, S, S, S, W (back to escarpment), N, N, W, GET EYEGLASS, GET KEY, E, S,
S, CLIMB CAVE (it's dark), USE CRYSTAL, N, N (to where Omorod is), DROP FOOTWEAR, SPEAK OMOROD
GIVE PIRADON ANCIENT TOME (he gives you the book - now give it back again so he can become
re-engrossed), GIVE OMOROD ANCIENT TOME, GET FOOTWEAR, WEAR FOOTWEAR, N, N, E (back to where
Basheeva is), DROP KEY, GET FOOD, GIVE BASHEEVA FOOD (she gobbles it and falls into a deep sleep),
GET KEY.

S (into the boiling marsh - make sure you ware wearing the footwear to cross here), E, E, E (by dark
castle - note if you try to enter the castle or fight Tomumu you will be killed), W, N (castle walls
- you cannot enter here), S, S, E (to where you find the undergrowth that Balchevik told you about),
EXAMINE EYEGLASS, WEAR EYEGLASS, EXAMINE UNDERGROWTH (you can now see an entrance in the
undergrowth), CLIMB ENTRANCE (you meet Dolmir and Kazzmor, the only way to kill Kazzmor is to use
magik and this is the correct time to use it), MAGIK (the power of your magik defeats the evil...
you were wise to save it this far... Dolmir still won't let you in so...), WAIT (as you wait
Dolmir begins to shimmer and fade), N (into a small cell - you meet Gideon), LOCK DOOR (using the
silver key it is now unlocked - NO that isn't a mistake you have to lock the door to unlock
it!), N (projection bay - here lies Dolmir and if you try to kill him Tomumu gets you... power
emanates from the unit), PUT MAGIC SPHERE ON BAY (it begins to glow and when it is picked up again
power surges through it - your magik has been recharged).

S (to Gideon), SPEAK GIDEON FOLLOW PIRADON (he smiles in agreement), S, W, W, N, W, W, N (to
Basheeva), MAGIK (her - she falls into a deep sleep), W, S, S, S, S, W (escarpment), N, N, W, W, W,
W (outside Markham Halls), N.

Chancellor Rigu steps forward and places the royal crown upon Gideon's head
