There appears too be a "bug" concerning the jungle so that when you TELL OUT to the apeman nothing happens. If this is the case leave that part out and continue from the sheer cliffs. 2. Do not enter the coach and play the cricket match near the end, as when rain stops play as it invariably does the game ends. Walk Through (Start in an aircraft which is shaking alarmingly), GET KITBAG, EXAMINE KITBAG, LOOK IN KITBAG (you see stumps, a pack of cigarettes, a bat, a ball, cricketers of the world album and a newspaper), GET BAT FROM BAG, GET BALL FROM BAG, EXAMINE BALL, GET CIGARETTES FROM BAG, EXAMINE RAM (Botham), E (down the aisle), S (cockpit), EXAMINE INDIVIDUAL (stuffy looking), EXAMINE LAMB, N (aisle where you see a hijacker), EXAMINE HIJACKER, BOWL HIJACKER OUT (you couldn't hit a barn door), W, GIVE BALL TO BOTHAM (he delivers a fast one to the man's cranium and he crumples... the ball ricochets and enters the cockpit... you hear a loud crack), E, SEARCH HIJACKER (find a business card), GET CARD, READ CARD (it says "The Albanian Fertilizer Corp."), DROP CARD, N (cockpit where the pilot is unconscious), S, ASK BOTHAM TO FLY PLANE (he hasn't the ability), N (cockpit), FLY PLANE (you "safely" crash on a pitted runway on an island). SEARCH LUGGAGE, LOOK, GET BALL, GET TEA BAGS, DROP BAG (something is wriggling in the bag - it's a snake), LOOK IN BAG (the snake won't let you take the paper), GET BAG, EXAMINE WRECKAGE, N (dirt track), LOOK (a peasant arrives with a cart), HITCH A LIFT (on the cart... some hours later you arrive in the town centre of Natangaville... the chief greets you, telling you he has arranged a knock about with the local children - do you accept?), YES (you find yourself at the cricket ground), TOSS COIN (you win... who will be your first man?), CHOOSE RAM (... a group of scantily clad maidens appear and you decide it's time to depart... you find yourself back on the dirt track), N (foothills), U, U (mid slopes), ASK CHARMER (snake), AUTOGRAPH BAT (using the pen), GIVE BAT (he smiles and opens the bag... taking the snake he bites off it's head), U (peak of Umiwatzit), EXAMINE GOAT, EXAMINE DROPPINGS (goat), GET NEWSPAPER FROM BAG, EXAMINE NEWSPAPER, GET DROPPINGS (the goat won't let you), DROP NEWSPAPER (the goat takes it and saunters off happily munching), GET DROPPINGS, D, D, D. (Before continuing see note one above), E (jungle), N, N, N (an apeman is sitting on the branch of a tree), PUT COIN IN BAG, GET CIGARETTE (from the packet), GIVE CIGARETTE TO APEMAN (he chews it and says how can I help you?), TELL OUT (you find yourself on the cliffs where you see Amfitz up to his armpits in quicksand), CALL RAM (Botham), CALL BILL (Edmonds), FORM CHAIN (with a great sucking noise he slides out, thanks you and muttering something about guano ambles toward the jungle), W, E (back to foothills), N (town centre - you're feeling tired and it's getting dark), ENTER HOTEL, U, E (your room), SLEEP (another day dawns), W (there's a commotion and a bag is placed over your head), WAIT (you find yourself in the centre of a collection of tatty huts), EXAMINE GUERRILLA BAND, TALK BAND (they push you roughly into the chief's hut), EXAMINE DINCUS, TALK DINCUS (you are held for ransom and escorted to a smelly hut), AUTOGRAPH BALL, THROW BALL (it flies through the small window), HELP, HELP, HELP (the lads got your message and some of them have stormed the camp routing the guerillas and releasing you... you find yourself at the centre of a collection of tatty huts), S (back to foothills). N, ENTER HOTEL (reception where you see Ram who is in pain), W (back to town centre where you see the chief), EXAMINE CHIEF, ASK HELP (he says you'll need the help of Hoodoo the medicine man and points to an old hut nearby), ENTER HUT, EXAMINE HOODOO (he has great influence with the people), ASK HELP, GIVE DROPPINGS (he takes them and adds things from his strange bottles... before long a potion is prepared which he gives to you), E (back to town centre), ENTER HOTEL (Alligator tells you one of the boys is missing), CALL GOOCH (he arrives), ASK GOOCH (he grabs Ram while you pour the potion down.... now he feels a lot better), W, N (jungle), N, W (cannibal camp where you see a player in the stewpot), TALK TO CHIEF (hostile), GIVE TEABAGS (the cannibals seem pleased... in true British tradition your player runs off screaming as he's released), N (foothills) ENTER HOTEL (to reception - a government minister covered in guano has turned up), TALK TO MINISTER (he says "It's imperative you lose this afternoon's match as a sign of goodwill"... What do you say?), NO (he sulks off), U, E (hotel room), SLEEP (when you awake you find yourself in jail), SWITCH ON RADIO, LISTEN (you hear a cricket commentary), SEARCH (some stones are loose, do you wish to escape?), ESCAPE (you work at the stones and are soon free) - END OF PART ONE PART 2 - THE MATCH Notes 1. It makes no difference how you answer the questions, for example whether you answer Fast or Spin, Attack or Defensive, Deep or Close. 2. When you toss the coin choose TAILS for a shorter game in which you win. 3. It makes no difference to the messages or result whether you Hit Smash, Slice, Clip or Defensive. 4. You can read the scoreboard any time you wish. (Start on a track), N (pavilion where you see that Gatting has been injured and you must take his place as Captain and last bat... Botham approaches and asks "How would you like me to play the bowling?"), SAY FAST (Gooch says "What about the batting?"), SAY ATTACK (Lamb wants to know if you want the fielding deep or close), SAY DEEP, EXAMINE TEAM, EXAMINE GOOCH, EXAMINE LAMB, EXAMINE BOTHAM, EXAMINE EDMONDS, EXAMINE WALTERS, EXAMINE FENWICK, EXAMINE MILES, EXAMINE GOWER, EXAMINE BOWLES, EXAMINE MASON, SEARCH POCKETS (you find a coin), TOSS COIN (heads or tails?). HEADS - (you lose the toss and are fielding... you go to long-on position), EXAMINE SCOREBOARD, WATCH GAME, READ SCOREBOARD (continue watching the game until it is your turn to bat then continue as below). TAILS - WATCH GAME (until it's your turn to bat), HIT (the bowler begins his run - how will you play this shot? SMASH, SLICE, CLIP or DEFENSIVE), HIT SMASH, RUN, HIT SLICE, RUN, HIT CLIP, RUN, HIT DEFENSIVE, RUN (just keep typing the above followed by run until you are out and find yourself at the pavilion), LOOK You won, CONGRATULATIONS, Your team played like heroes. You played a marvellous game too. You were a star and your efforts will be well rewarded when you arrive home...
