Scenario
As Jim Hawkins, search for pirate gold and for a way to outwit Long John Silver, a clever and
cunning buccaneer.

Note
The alternative to get to Lord Livesey's in Chapter I is as follows:
SE, E, S (outside a rundown almshouse), KNOCK ON DOOR (a derelict opens the door), TALK TO MAN, GIVE
GOLD (he leads you inside), TALK TO MAN (you hear pirates outside - they go), TALK TO MAN (he leads
you back outside and pulls back a trellis to reveal a secret path south), S.

Walk Through
CHAPTER I
(Start in the parlour), TALK TO BILLY (he wants some rum), S (bar), TAKE TANKARD, TAKE RUM, N (back
to parlour), GIVE RUM TO BILLY (he begins his story), ASK BILLY ABOUT FLINT'S FIST (it's
an oilcloth bundle in the shape of a fist), ASK BILLY ABOUT TREASURE (it's buried on Treasure
Island), ASK BILLY ABOUT MAP (marks the location of the treasure), ASK BILLY ABOUT FLINT (he's
a pirate), WAIT (until you hear a loud tapping at the door), OPEN DOOR (a blind man is here to see
Billy), TAKE MAN TO BILLY (he gives Billy a piece of paper... Billy slumps in his chair), LOOK BILLY
(he is trying to talk to you), LISTEN TO BILLY (he tells you abut the seachest in his room), GET
METAL (from around his neck - it's a key), TAKE PAPER.

S, U (outside Billy's room), TAKE NEWSPAPER, READ NEWSPAPER, EXAMINE DOOR, OPEN DOOR (it's
stuck), KICK DOOR (you enter), UNLOCK CHEST (with key - the lock's rusted), OIL LOCK (using the
oil from the broken lamp), UNLOCK CHEST, OPEN CHEST, TAKE OILCLOTH, EXAMINE OILCLOTH (it's
Flint's fist), TAKE TOBACCO, EXAMINE TOBACCO, TAKE WATCH, EXAMINE WATCH, TAKE GOLD, EXAMINE
GOLD, OPEN WINDOW, D (you climb down the tree).

S, S (you can get to Lord Livesey's either by going southeast or southwest - we will go
southwest but the way southeast is listed in the notes above), SW, S (an old woman is here), TALK TO
WOMAN (she tells of a blind man killed on the southwest road), SW, EXAMINE CANE (it belonged to the
blind man), E, EXAMINE MAN (he has two fingers missing, it is Black Dog - do NOT examine him or he
will steal the fist and the game will end), E (by he estate of Dr. Livesey, TALK TO DOCTOR, TELL
DOCTOR ABOUT PIRATES, TELL DOCTOR ABOUT OILCLOTH, CLIMB UP (into the carriage... after a short ride
you are ushered into the drawing room of Squire Trelawney's estate), TELL SQUIRE ABOUT OILCLOTH
(he opens it and looks at the map), EXAMINE MAP (it has three crosses on it), TALK TO SQUIRE (he
says he will find a ship), EXAMINE PIPES (the squire wants information on ships in Bristol), GIVE
NEWSPAPER (he says "Let's go to Bristol"... CONGRATULATIONS you've completed the
first chapter and eluded the pirates... at least for now).

CHAPTER II
(Chapter two opens on the Bristol Road), N, N (tavern), SIT DOWN, TALK TO LONG JOHN, EXAMINE LONG
JOHN, DRINK RUM, S, W (to board the Hispaneola), TALK TO CAPTAIN (he tells you that you will be the
ship's lookout), S (while on board ship manoeuvre with Aft, Forward, Starboard and Port), AFT,
D (below deck), STARBOARD (to your cabin - the doctor is here), OPEN SEACHEST, ASK DOCTOR ABOUT
SILVER, PORT, AFT, PORT (captain's cabin), OPEN SEACHEST, EXAMINE SEACHEST, TAKE SPYGLASS,
EXAMINE SPYGLASS.

STARBOARD, AFT (ship's galley - Silver and the crew are singing), SING (when you've
finished you return to your quarters), PORT, U, AFT (rear deck - an apple barrel is here... you hear
voices), HIDE IN BARREL, LISTEN (you hear Silver's voice), LISTEN (they are planning a mutiny),
FORWARD (midship - a storm is brewing), WAIT (the storm strikes), TIE ROPE (you tie yourself to the
mast... the storm abates and you return to your cabin), TELL DOCTOR ABOUT MUTINY, PORT, FORWARD
(ship forecastle - the captain and the squire are here), ASK CAPTAIN ABOUT CREW, ASK SQUIRE ABOUT
CREW (the crew have smuggled rum aboard), TELL CAPTAIN ABOUT MUTINY.

AFT (you hear the sound of rolling barrels coming from the galley), AFT, AFT (galley - Silver is
supervising sailors carrying in new barrels of provisions), EXAMINE HATCH (it's open), FORWARD,
AFT (Silver has now gone), D (storage deck), EXAMINE BARRELS, EXAMINE CASKS (one seems out of
place), MOVE CASK (reveals a small keg), EXAMINE KEG (it's filled with rum), U (galley), OPEN
CABINET, TAKE FOOD, TAKE KNIFE, EXAMINE FOOD (contains cheese and crackers), FEED PARROT (it stops
squawking), FORWARD, FORWARD (there's a piece of paper tacked on the door to your cabin), READ
PAPER (the doctor is working in the forecastle), PORT (crew's quarters - everyone stops talking
as you enter), STARBOARD, FORWARD (forecastle), ASK DOCTOR ABOUT CHARTS, AFT, U (midship - you
notice something strange about the sailor), EXAMINE SAILOR (reeks of rum), TALK TO SAILOR, FORWARD
(foredeck), TELL CAPTAIN ABOUT RUM (he goes below, gets the key and heaves the rum overboard), ALOFT
to the crow's nest, USE SPYGLASS (in the distance you see land - it's Treasure Island...
CONGRATULATIONS you've completed chapter two... now you're ready to explore Treasure
Island).

CHAPTER III
(You are on the foredeck of the Hispaniola anchored 100 yards off shore), BOARD BOAT (you land on
the beach of Treasure Island), EXAMINE SHELL (reminds you of a horn), GET SHELL, N (thicket), TAKE
COIN (a strange man appears and you run southwest... the crew are here sitting around a fire), SIT
DOWN, TELL SILVER ABOUT MAN (sounds like Ben Gunn), ASK SILVER ABOUT TREASURE (he wants you to help
him), NO, NO, NE (he keeps talking), NE ("Is it yes or o?"), NO (better leave quick... you
run to the beach), TAKE BOTTLE (you find a rolled-up piece of paper inside and read the message...
pirates are now in control of the Hispaniola).

N (you see a Union Jack to the east), E (outside a stockade), N (inside - the captain and others are
here), TELL CAPTAIN ABOUT PIRATES, WAIT (until the doctor confines you to a room for your own
safety), EXAMINE BED (something on the floor catches your eye), EXAMINE FLOOR (you find a metal
ring), PULL RING (a hatch opens revealing a passage leading down), D (you come out in a hollowed out
tree stump outside the stockade).

S (wooded glade), FEED TOUCAN, S (into the woods where you hear leaves rustling), EXAMINE LEAVES (a
hungry man throws himself at your feet), FEED MAN (Ben Gunn offers to help you), ASK BEN ABOUT
TREASURE (he runs off), SE (small rocky peninsula), EXAMINE PLANT (a sticky resin is oozing from
it), GET RESIN, EXAMINE LEDGE (under it is a coracle), EXAMINE CORACLE (it's a small boat - it
has a hole in the bottom), PUT RESIN IN HOLE (now watertight), LAUNCH BOAT (you push off towards the
Hispaniola... CONGRATULATIONS you've completed Chapter III.... now you must recover the
Hispaniola, but beware of the pirates, they have not finished with you yet).

CHAPTER IV
(You are in the coracle beside the Hispaniola), GRAB LINE, CLIMB ROPE (to the foredeck), EXAMINE
STAINS (they're blood stains), AFT (midship - a man grabs your feet), TALK TO MAN (he wants you
to become partners), YES, FORWARD, CUT LINE WITH KNIFE (anchor line), AFT, ASK HANDS ABOUT TREASURE
(he doesn't trust Silver), AFT (rear deck), EXAMINE BARREL, GET PISTOL, FORWARD (Hands is
coming toward you with a knife), SHOOT HANDS WITH PISTOL (the ship stops on a reef), EXAMINE BARREL
(it's watertight), TAKE BARREL (you lower yourself into the water and kick to the shore).

(You are beside a bubbling spring - note there's no need to enter the marsh to the south), W, W
(Inside a large cavern - you can break the stalactites if you wish, but it isn't necessary to
complete the game), S (inside a large cave - you sense someone watching you), BLOW SHELL (Ben Gunn
appears), TALK TO BEN (he says your friends are loyal and to signal him again in the woods), S (you
emerge into bright daylight and the cave collapses behind you), S (top of Spyglass Hill), BLOW
SHELL, SW (you climb over the stockade wall), TALK TO SILVER (CONGRATULATIONS You've completed
chapter four... soon you'll be hunting for treasure... if the pirates let you live).

CHAPTER V
(You are tied up inside the cabin of the stockade), ASK SILVER ABOUT PIRATES, ASK DOCTOR ABOUT
PIRATES, EXAMINE SILVER (one of the pirates hands Silver the paper with the black dot on it),
EXAMINE SPOT, ASK SILVER ABOUT SPOT (it is an old sailor's custom that anyone given a black
spot is marked for death... Silver leads you outside where Dr. Livesey is with a white flag), TALK
TO DOCTOR (we traded Silver the map for our lives... you are led back inside), TAKE FOOD, TAKE
BRANDY, TALK TO SILVER (it's time to search for treasure and you're going along as
hostage... he gives you the map).

EXAMINE MAP (says go west), W, SW (the foot of pine tree), EXAMINE SKELETON (it's pointing
south), S (Silver and his men are too interested in the skeleton... a voice says "Leave my
treasure alone"), ASK SILVER ABOUT VOICE (it sounded like Captain Flint), EXAMINE TREE (out of
the corner of your eye you see Ben Gunn), S (plateau), EXAMINE MAP, E (clearing near cave - the
pirates turn on you), RUN (you are in a thickly wooded grove), EXAMINE METAL (it's a rusted
cutlass), TAKE CUTLASS.

N, W, N (campfire - the Squire, Captain and Doctor are here), TELL DOCTOR ABOUT PIRATES (he says
lead us to the pirates, we're ready for them), S (you arrive at the treasure site - the pirates
have tied up Silver), UNTIE SILVER (the rope is knotted too tight), CUT ROPE WITH CUTLASS (he helps
you deal with the pirates), TALK TO DOCTOR, TALK TO CAPTAIN, TALK TO SQUIRE, BLOW SHELL (Ben Gunn
gestures for you to follow him), FOLLOW BEN (into a cave - Captain Flint's treasure is here),
TAKE TREASURE, TALK TO DOCTOR, EXIT CAVE (you prepare to sail back to England), TALK TO CAPTAIN
(we've decided to maroon the pirates here as punishment, but what about Silver), TAKE SILVER
(you load the treasure and set sail for England... you return to England as a wealthy adventurer).
