Dear old Granddad had shuffled off his mortal coil and with his "passing" came the necessary task of arranging and paying for his funeral. Typical of the wizened old man was that he chose not to bother with the likes of such things as banks or "insurance policies" so there was no ready cash to cover the costs.
However, the old man had left one item of value behind him - namely a small chest - and it was this that attracted Brian's attention. It may have been small but it was also surprisingly heavy for its size.
What Brian was to find inside it was to lead him to one of the greatest adventures of his life.
Father helped Brian carry the heavy wooden chest up the stairs to his bedroom. Brian had inherited the chest from his Grandfather who died fighting Gordon the Gorgon on the island of Widget. "There you go, son," says father and hands a key to Brian. "Your mum is staying with gran and won't be back until tomorrow. I'm off to work now as I'm on a double shift. That's how we're going to pay for the funeral," adds Father, leaving the room.
