Synopsis

Plot

As Claude le Merde of the Sureté your assignment is to solve the murder of Enos Costello, Abbot of the Abbey of St Isosceles.

Notes

The original C64 version of the game was written in 1984. A news article from the time mentions that Fender was selling copies through local business outlets. The game was partly inspired by the novel In the Name of the Rose.

The better known commercial release of the game was on Loadstar issue 48 in 1988.

There is a later version of the game, dated 1995, which presumably appeared on a subsequent issue of the disk magazine; this version was reworked to take advantage of the C128.

The author writes about the game on his blog here; it also includes a newspaper article about Fender's games and a novella version of the game's story!

The third game in the M-M-M-Trilogy, entitled Murder on the Mesa, was never completed.
