FELINE SLEEPY
By Edwina Brown
Zenobi Games
Spectrum 128

This is a delightful, very engaging game, deceptively simple on the
surface, but like other of Brown’s games, sufficiently complex for you to
enjoy. I liked Brown’s puzzles about getting the fish for the chef,
sufficiently interesting, but not too complex. Use the hints that you are
given when you type HELP.

You are Jenny, touring England. You pull off the road to avoid a deer,
sleep for an hour and get to the Catnip Hotel.

Hints:

Red herrings: the mittens, the goldfish, the pink door.

You won’t find keys to all the coloured doors. Some you don’t need keys
for. Others require some action on your part, other than just unlocking
the door with the correct key.

Making the fishing rod: you need a stripped stem, a hook, and some string.
Then put them together. Problem with making a hook? You need to find a
tool to do so. And when you have the tool, what do you use it on? Surely
you have found some metal that could be made into suitable hook. Have you
looked in the creche? Then you need bait. Some food you have can be
suitable, particularly after it is mushed up and malleable.

To shorten the ladder, use one of the verbs provided when you type HELP.

All objects, but one, are needed only once, so you can drop them once you
have used them.

You need to oil the whetstone before you can use it. Yes, you would have
found this on your own, just thought I would save you some trouble.

For additional points, use the scissors on the brambles (even though that
doesn’t work).

Prickly things require hand protection.

I am not quite sure how you can get full points. You should be able to do
something at the dining room, but I have not found out what it is. May be
a slight bug in the game.
