NOTE: There are two versions of The Jade Necklace which have some slightly
different puzzles, inventory and maps, both for which I've provided a solution.
Neither one indicates which came first or what version number they are so I'm
just going to distinguish them by their background color. One had a yellow
background, while the other had a blue background. Even though they were
slightly different, they were both enjoyable to me so I recommend playing them
both!
*-=<*>=-* SOLUTION FOR THE VERSION WITH THE YELLOW BACKGROUND *-=<*>=-*
NOTE: This version is somewhat more abbreviated than the blue version. A lot
of things are automatically done for you, whereas in the blue version, you had
to type out a lot of steps.
*ARBITRARY EVENTS*
================
Somewhere on 35th Street near the Precinct, a burly man will drop a leather
wallet. Pick that up and examine it. That contains a Yale key which opens the
door to a cottage out in the country.
You could also get killed by a drive-by shooting or if you press the wrong
number on the elevator so make sure you have the vest on.

NOTE: I preferred this one over the yellow version, I think psychologically
because blue is my favorite color and because the puzzles are a little more
complex. The map is more detailed in the yellow version though.
*ARBITRARY EVENTS*
================
Early in the game, you will witness a mugger trying to steal a little old lady's
handbag so: ATTACK MUGGER <the lady will give you 50 pence>.
With the 50 pence, buy a tie at the Men's Shop <west side of the main street at
2nd Street> and wear it to get into the gambling boat and bank. If the shop is
closed for lunch just go to the bank or casino boat and try to get in. I think
this switches the flag on to open the Men's Shop for business.
The mugger will also drop a little crow bar, a jemmy, in the area where you
stopped him, so go back to this place and: GET JEMMY.
You could also get killed by a drive-by shooting or if you press the wrong
number on the elevator so make sure you have the vest on.
STARTING OUT

To decipher it just replace the letter with the letter it follows in the
alphabet. For example, for the first letter in the first word, "XFEHF", you
replace X with the letter that precedes it, in this case, W. In other words:
