Synopsis

You are about to start a great adventure and you will need to overcome numerous puzzles and foes in order to gain access to PART 2 of THE LAND BEYOND TIME. Your travels will take you into rain forests, caves, waterways and vast plains. Some of these locations can only be accessed via TIME PORTALS. The portals will appear after carrying out certain tasks in a particular order.

You have a lot of exploring to do before you meet CRONUS in the Garden of Elysium. So go forth pilgrim but beware this is a very strange land.

Notes

Simon Allan writes:

The Land Beyond Time is a two part graphic adventure. Programming started in 1985 and was finally completed at the end of 2006. I'm so sorry for the delay but I've been out enjoying myself.

I haven't seen Mr. Rogan in all that time apart from one occasion when we 'bumped' into each other at Blackburn College in 1997. We exchanged the normal 'hello, what have you been doing... what are you doing now... then goodbyes... see you in another 12 years' and I haven't seen him since.

This game has much of the mainframe sadism of the late seventies and early eighties. There is a time critical move very early on and those of you who have played Hezarin (not many I suspect) may recall the ground shaking and the nearby terrain changing location directions. This happened if you tried to save a game in the smoke-filled corridors with the two pits. The Land Beyond Time does a similar thing; so if you are mapping the torturous opening locations and can't seem to tie up all the directions then you'll know why. Very crafty and very nasty.
