Synopsis

In your quest for the Holy Grail you have found an obscure reference to the forgotten kingdom of Dunjin. You've never heard of this kingdom before - however, you have heard of a famous tourist attraction, the Dungeons of Dunjin.

At the start of the game, you will find yourself in a forest, looking for the entrance to the Dungeon of Dunjin. Your objective is to enter and explore the Dungeon, ultimately to find the Holy Grail. Many obstacles will be in your way, and you'll have to face many dangers, all of which you'll have to overcome with your wit alone (and possibly some information and objects you'll pick up on your way).

Dunjin is a very traditional and elaborate cave crawl with a tangential quest; one of the best of its kind. It appears to become progressively more difficult as you progress. One puzzle involving the transportation and use of a wooden table is multi-levelled and very clever, as well as being very easy to muck up.

Finicky and intricate might best sum up this massive dungeon romp; I have never come across so many soft and hard locks in a game this side of the Phoenix T/SAL offerings. It must have been very difficult to program given the amount of doors, keys, portals, short cuts and general changes in objects/room statuses that occur throughout the map. That said I don't understand the puzzle based around the dwarfs' favourite tipple. It is meant to make you invisible to every living creature except the dwarfs themselves; however in a state of invisibility I have been spotted by everyone from a stone troll to a bloodhound even after dropping my entire inventory. David McCallum never had this trouble.

One of the main problems is shifting around what already amounts to 64 objects with an inventory limit of 18; some areas of the map become closed off so the logistics of a storage silo is difficult to decide upon. Nevertheless I have so far mapped 163 locations and as my score is only 133 out of 350 I suspect that I am nowhere near the end.
