Synopsis

Plot

Shipwrecked on a hostile island, you must get a message to someone before the island's volcano explodes, without offending the natives!

Originally written for the TRS-80 in 16K BASIC.

This was adventure #3 in the SoftSide Adventure Series (formerly SoftSide Adventure of the Month Club). It was published as a bonus on SoftSide CV and DV (the cassette and disk versions) with the instructions in SoftSide magazine, issue 40, vol. 6, no. 7, April 1983, p. 73 and encoded hints in SoftSide Selections, issue 41, vol. 6, no. 8, June 1983, p. 21 (Atari version).

This is called "Volcano Island Adventure" in the title screens of the instructions and the game itself and "Volcano Island" in SoftSide, SoftSide Selections, the body of the instructions and the body of the game itself. Either could be considered the correct title.

As with many of his early TRS-80 games, the author later converted the adventure to the C64 using the AdventureWriter and CodeWriter released it in 1985 as part of The Thriller Series 2, under the title Shipwrecked.

The "Quilled" Shipwrecked version was also later sold (1988?) as part of a four-game compilation by Free Spirit Software; where an Apple II version was also listed.
