Synopsis

It is the year 2186 and you have finally got the loans to finance the purchase of your own mining ship - an eight year old space ship called Starcross. With this ship you intend to make your fortune (and pay off your loans) by discovering and harnessing quantum black holes, in fact one hole would do.

After three months of fruitless search you decide it's time to try something different. Nobody prospects in the inner system anymore, you will and your luck is bound to change. Your luck will change, but it will not be a black hole that you will find.

Very good fare from Dave Lebling, if a bit unsophisticated by modern standards. The sci-fi theme is well presented and there is a balanced mix of player-friendliness and operational puzzles, with clues well embedded in context and descriptions. Nicely designed and intriguing to play. It feels a bit cold and serious compared to other Infocom creations, as there is less humour and emotional development.
