Synopsis

Plot

You're chief of castle security and you've gotten word that the king has been kidnapped. Members of a rival political faction are holding him prisoner and, according to the laws of the land, he must abdicate the throne if he doesn't appear promptly at the appointed hour for the State of the Kingdom address.

According to the ransom note, he's hidden somewhere in the abandoned castle just outside town. You've just entered the castle. Can you save the king in time? You've only got ten minutes in real time before the king is due to appear.

Notes

This was published by COMPUTE! Publications as a BASIC type-in listing for the C64 and VIC-20 in Compute!'s Commodore collection: Volume 1, pp. 26-33. It only recognises five verbs: GO, GET, READ, USE and I (for INVENTORY).

(Note: Andy Hayes is the author of the game. Charles Brannon only did the 40-column formatter for the C64 version.)
