Synopsis

Plot

You are a golem, a creature of small mind, put together with sticks, stones, string, mud and a little magic. Your task is unclear, but as the game unfolds, you find that you must find a sword and plunge it into the stone of an altar for a future king of England to discover it.

Notes

This was written using BASIC XL to demonstrate techniques that you can use in this language to make writing adventures easy.

The game was included on THE BASIC XL TOOLKIT disk. The program is broken down in detail here.

Bill Wilkinson references PICO-ADVENTURE in a Compute! Magazine article from October 1981; so it's possible that either they re-used the name or the game exists in an earlier form.
