Synopsis

Plot

You play the role of Cinderella in this adventure that is loosely based on the Walt Disney animated version of Cinderella rather than the traditional fairy tale version.

After your mother died, your father remarried and you now live in a large house, a few miles from the Royal Palace, together with your elderly father and your ugly step-sisters (referred to as 'sisters' in the game).

In a few hours' time, a ball is being held at the Royal Palace to celebrate the 21st birthday of Prince Charming and everybody in the village has been invited. Unfortunately, your older step-sisters are very mean to you and they will not let you go to the ball. You are broken-hearted, as you would dearly love to meet the prince.

The game begins at the fireplace adjacent to your kitchen. You are so upset that you have a little CRY and PRAY that you can go to the ball. Then your fairy godmother appears and sets you some tasks to perform. Maybe there's hope after all! Can you carry out your fairy godmother's tasks? If you can, maybe she can get you to the ball...

Notes

Published as a type-in game in Oric Owner magazine, issue 5, December 1983/January 1984, pp. 42, 50-55. The original listing was full of printing errors and missing statements that made the game unplayable. These were easily fixed, but the resulting game was still full of bugs.

This was later published as Buttons in Personal Computing Today for the Commodore 16. The Commodore 16 version had slightly different room descriptions and did not have the printing errors, but had the same bugs as the original.
