Synopsis

The Van Pelt Library is the main library of the University of Pennsylvania. It houses the social sciences and humanities collections which make up approximately two thirds of the total library collections. PennLIN - the online catalog - and the Van Pelt card catalogs list materials in the main library and in the thirteen departmental libraries. In addition the library provides access, through a number of computer systems, to national databases of books, journals, and journal articles.

This game is designed to orient you to the Van Pelt Library. It is easier to play if you use the accompanying maps and printed materials. Your assignment is to find a book about Atomic Energy. The next screen will show you some information about this book from PennLIN. Make a note of the book’s call number. If you want to refer to this information again when you get inside the library, you may search PennLIN yourself or ask a librarian to help you.
