Uncle Seamore is a scientific wizard. Other members of your family may dispute this and warn you not to hang around "Simple Simon" for fear of some of his craziness rubbing off on you, but even as far back as your earliest memories you have always seen him for the genius he is.
Now he has disappeared for a second time leaving no message of his whereabouts. You fear the worst and decide to search his apartment for any clues that might tell you where he is...
The first installment of the WadeWar trilogy was scribbled on scraps of paper and napkins while working in a pizza parlour. There was once some partially written BASIC source code for a TRS-80 model 1, but this is long gone. Only the notes remain and these have not been released.
The second installment was 'The WadeWars Book II: Niska'. This game was monstrous in size, but never came to fruition. An unfinished version was written in Inform 6 and released on 6 August 2000.
The third installment (this game) was 'The WadeWars Book III: Askin'. (The alternative names appeared in the documentation, but not in the game itself.) It was initially written for the TRS-80 Model I, then the Commodore 64, but these no longer exist. It was ported to MS-DOS and released as shareware on 17 April 1993 under the company name Fish Software. After some time, the author's interest waned and the source code was lost.
In mid 2000, the author rediscovered his game on the IF Archive, extracted the strings, rewrote it in Inform 6 and released it on 18 July 2000. There may have been one or two more releases, the most recent being written in Inform 6 with the author's own OnyxRing library and released on 12 May 2002.
