The Sinclive Diamond has been stolen from the Jewel Room of Spectraisia's Capital, Microdrivia. It must be restored in as short a time as possible, before the public begin to doubt its existence, but where in this city of death and intrigue is the stolen Sinclive Diamond?
Although Diamond Trial has previously been listed as the very first commercial adventure written with The Quill (Tim Gilberts was one of the founders of Gilsoft, publishers of The Quill) the game pre-dates that system and was written by Tim using an assembler and Graeme Yeandle's raw database/interpreter. That database/interpreter would later form the basis of The Quill.
There was an official C64 release of this game, created using the C64 Quill.
Dragon versions of this game and Magic Castle were planned and Tim Gilberts spent a day transcoding the Z80 instructions to 6809 code, only to discover that the program save failed. The development of other Gilsoft programs meant that Tim could not spare enough time to revisit this project during the period when the Dragon still had a viable market.
The Atari version may be an unofficial conversion.

OK early game from Gilsoft. Despite the Sinclair User review (issue 24, p44) stating it can "keep the player involved in the game for a long time", this is a beginner's adventure which can be sorted quickly.
