Synopsis
Plot
The peaceful kingdom of Hecate has been invaded by the Xixon, an evil race of lizard-men who have reappeared after all were thought to have been vanquished by the hero, Kolt, over 200 years before. Kolt used an axe, forged from elf-metal by a sorceror, but the axe was buried with Kolt when he died, and the location of his tomb has been forgotten by most folk. Can you, Alaric Blackmoon, once a roving mercenary and swordsman, now just a penniless wanderer, find the lost "Axe of Kolt" and return it to it's rightful owner, the young king Kelson of Hecate?
Notes
In four parts. The original Electron/BBC version was Quilled. The Spectrum remake was created with, and converted to the Amstrad, using the PAW.
The Spectrum 128K version is a more expanded, larger game than the 48K edition.
A C64 version of this game, by The Guild, was planned and mentioned in Commodore Force #1 (January 1993), but it was never released.
The Amstrad (PAW CP/M) version of the title was sold by The Adventure Workshop; unlike many of their other Spectrum to Amstrad conversions, the game was ported by the original author, Larry Horsfield.
The 2014 version was produced using ADRIFT 5 and is available both as a Windows executable and a blorb-file which is playable with the ADRIFT 5 Runner. It can also be played online.
