The king has been kidnapped by a band of marauding Picts, who are keeping him incarcerated in the dungeon of a fortress to the north. Your task is a simple one... retrieve the gold that will pay the king's ransom!
Extremely short and easy game which accompanied GAC as a tutorial to what that tool could accomplish. The "Advin Man" tutorial was included in the manual and also as a saved database on the system tape/disk.
Most releases of the GAC system included a version of the game, King's Ransom, with longer descriptions and showcasing graphics on the target platform. The solution to the adventure is identical.
The game was also published in 1992 on the Commodore Format Powerpack of issue 16 (together with GAC).
This game was unofficially ported and extended by Zeljko Juric, in the early 2000s, as a demonstration game, using his version of the Quill for TI-89 and TI-92+ graphical calculators.
There is an unofficial port of the game by The Glass Fractal that can be played online.
Paul Weller of Sunteam produced an unofficial port of the game for Spectrum Next, using Adventuron & DAAD. This can be downloaded from itch.io.
