Take the role of Squire Knightson, the Lord of Rhodas manor in Midshire, the central region of the land of Dominion. This ancient land is under threat from a dark force hitherto unseen and from distant shores lead by a powerful Emperor who has taken a foothold already in Midshire. Knightson, whose father had explored the realm of the Emperor and before his capture, has charged himself with destroying this force and doing whatever is necessary to save Dominion. Can Knightson follow in the footsteps of the ancient and revered leader of Dominion, Romen who had forged an alliance between the peoples of east and west, and bring peace to their land?
Explore far-off regions, form alliances, fight mythical creatures and use sorcery to complete your quest.
Notes
Apparently the game was planned to be released commercially, but this was not achieved.
There are a lot of things about this that could be improved (in the BBC version, at least). One can be seen in the images - no text-wrapping! Also, all commands must be typed in full, and TAKE is understood but not GET. Another thing I didn't discover for a while is that LOOK gives you some completely new info about the location - which is printed *very* slowly, for some reason. The program does a lot of disk accesses, which also slows things down; and, amazingly, if you explore the disk on the BBC Micro games website, you find there are 30 files! Finally, you seem to have to do a lot of random wandering about without finding much to do, to start with at least.
