The space freighter Pulsar 7 is returning from a distant planet, where it has collected a mysterious creature for the Intergalactic Zoo. Unfortunately the creature escapes and starts killing the crew. You have to make it to the escape pod without getting killed!
Notes
Inspired by the Alien film.
The original TRS-80 version, and slightly later IBM PC port, was published by Molimerx.
To obtain graphics on a Dragon requires the computer to be in Dragon 64 mode, otherwise the game is text only.
Disappointing, the seventh adventure from Brian Howarth that I've played, and the only one so far that has not been enjoyable. No sense of menace from the creature stalking you. As I enjoy mapping, the only redeeming feature was mapping the maze and the realisation that the maze wasn't really a maze!
Artificially made difficult by vocabulary tricks and having to examine undescribed scenery. I managed to enjoy some of the the puzzles, but the overall experience is awkward. The version I have on ZX Spectrum has an interesting bug: the larder, a location, is also an object - it can be taken and dropped anywhere, and therefore behaves like an unlimited container.
