The Text Adventure Literacy Project was an initiative launched by Chris Ainsley, the author of the Adventuron creation system, to "provide a friction-less method of teaching the next generation how to play text adventure games."

The Text Adventure Literacy Project encourages the creation of games with a clear initial tutorial introducing new players to common text adventure concepts, a simplified parser if possible, and some initial simple introductory puzzles. Graphics are encouraged. As well as authors creating TALP games independently there have been annual Text Adventure Literacy Jams (both in English and Spanish) linked to the project.
