Synopsis

Notes

An early, text-only version was published by Programma Intl. in 1979. The game was re-published in 1981 by Highlands Computer Services in an improved version featuring graphics.

On the Gallery of Undeisovered Entities website (link below), one of the authors, Hal Antonson writes:

"Goblins was started in 1978 using an Apple II... We sent the program to Programma International in California for publishing. It was “released” in 1979. This version was strictly text. There were no graphics... In 1980, Butch Greathouse, who was Highlands Computer, gave me a call... He asked if we would be interested in adding some graphics, and letting him publish it."

When adding graphics for the Highlands Computer Services version, some changes were made to the game to make the crudely drawn objects more distinguishable; for example, the nail was changed to a knife, so it was more distinct from the pin.

The Highlands Computer Services graphics version was on the Apple II. An emulated .dsk file is available on the internet.
