Synopsis

A faithful port of the original Crowther and Woods Adventure though it does add an extra location called the Software Den. It also gives players clues about what to do at Witt's End and the Plover room.

This game has garnered some notoriety (Warning: page contains a scary photograph of Bill G!) in that nowhere in the game or packaging does it credit Crowther or Woods, nor were royalties paid to either man.

What an amazing photo - and a terrific tale, too :)

There are two TRS-80 versions: version 1.1 corrects a bug in 1.0 where the pirate never shows up in some cases, and hence the game is unwinnable. Regrettably, 1.1 it is more prone to memory corruption, and garbled text is likely to appear near the endgame, but at least it can be finished. The additional magic word "LWPI" also makes it possible to abbreviate some of the 350-point version canonical solutions. The PC version seems to have been better debugged, and is the one I would recommend to play.
