Synopsis

Plot

After enduring a hurricane, your hot air balloon has crashed on a mysterious island. Lost and alone, you have to find a way to survive and escape.

Notes

Based very loosely on The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

In 2019, an (official) updated version 'Escape from Dinosaur Island DX' was produced by Chris Ainsley, including simple graphics and a 'Text Adventure Literacy Project' tutorial. This was created using Adventuron for PC/browser, and PAWs for ZX Spectrum.

Notable differences in the DX version are the additional graphics, some additional responses, some housekeeping tasks, walkhrough of the pre-game, and the DX version is the version that is ported to ZX Spectrum (via PAW).

The Adventuron version can be played online at itch.io.

The URL for the DX version is https://adventuron.itch.io/dinoisland

Just thinking out loud, there needs to be a separate record on CASA for the game, with a link back to a "based upon" or "remake of" game entry?

Or this comment can just serve as the additional information.

As a rule of thumb, we don't make new entries for different versions of a game unless they are heavily altered/expanded or feature a lot of new puzzles.

We already have a lot of games for various platforms, where some versions will have graphics, others be text-only, some will feature shortcut keys, on screen mapping etc. and others don't. In order to keep the number of entries manageable, such versions are lumped into one entry.
